Emily, glad to see you are still at it! You made our Rouge trip exceptional. I hope you and your crew are well.

Of all the many, many GG videos I have watched, this is my favorite. I needed to learn about the subject and you both presented it so well, but the whole "live video from the camp" vibe was the best!! It just so happens, the last video I watched was with Zach and Aaron on the banks of the Illinois talking about flipping a gear boat.. I understand the inherent limitations, but this style is the most enjoyable to watch. Same with videos like the conversations with Sawyer and Sotar. Keep it up. Do more of them. I do understand many of these were years ago, but my point still stands. For me at least.

Being a plumber and having to carry the groover on multiple trips. (its sucks to work on a vacation if anyone cares.) I like to leave a sanitizer bottle near. After days they stink and you can put a drop of sanitizer (peppermint oil) on the tip of your nose before using it or packing it up. Also its handy to keep extra parts on board in case you lose a part. That shituation? Cheers folks!

We add chemicals to our groovers that help them smell better. Your suggestion of sanitizer is great too. Thanks!

The groover tent can also double as shower tent which is nice. I would like to know what you folks record is for longest period of time without dumping. We did I think 8 days before dump/bury. That was brutal..Way too much time to marinate. We did not have the luxury of getting to a dump station. Oh, that was 12 people. Not sure why we chose not to empty periodically.

I've waited a month before dumping before. The sooner you dump the better!

Really confused by your comment, are you dumping / burying your groover out on the river? If so please don't, plan your trip accordingly and get a second groover and empty it someplace appropriate. 16 people 40 days and we packed it all out to the end, and I have a half full one in my garage currently (different trip a few weeks ago) as I did not have the luxury of a dump station but still want to get rid of it properly, and no it does not smell at all.

We've done wag bags and rocket boxes with the plastic inner tank and a toilet seat. Wag bags are pretty stinky in the boat, but the rocket box seemed to be much better. What is your experience with various options on keeping the stink down on a 90 degree day when it is sitting two feet away from you in the boat?
@GearGarageTV5 жыл бұрын
We put the wag bags in a sealed container like a bucket with a gamma lid or a rocket box. That really helps with the stink. To help with the stink in a regular groover, use these inside: microbialogic.com/product/rtb-780-20-package-box-120-packets/.

@@GearGarageTV Any issues with the additive pressurizing the tank? I have an Eco-safe setup an worry the enzyme mixes may pressurize the tank to the point of popping. :)

We usually have a "pee bucket" next to the groover.
@GearGarageTV4 жыл бұрын
That's a good idea too! On our trips we are okay with people peeing in the groover since it makes them easier to clean after the trip.
