Yes it was Darcy who started giggling first and this set Demetrio off when Darcy asked “are you used to this sort of thing?”

i completely agree. it was an unfortunate incident, but in a way i couldnt stop myself from having a little giggle, just at the whole randomness of it all. First the whole essendon saga, and now another one which kind of seems silly. Glad no one was hurt in the end

I'd like to point out it was Darcy who started chuckling to himself first. I reckon it was Darcy's INANE preamble that tipped Demetriou over the edge, not the poor old flaming dwarf. "That is unusual, Andrew. Fair to say, that's not what ya wanna see on a M, on ahh, on a Monday, but.... are you used to this sort of thing?" Check Demetriou's expression as Darcy is babbling. Gold! Then Bruuuuuuce gets all touchy and ass-kissy and creepy for the 2nd half of the clip. Wall to wall highlights.

I think the point of concern in this incident is - why did he think that was funny when asked a dwarf clothes was burnt and he (dwarf) was upset. This showed how any managerial personnel taking this lightly, hence we see all problems in all football codes, that do not address an issue seriously, unfit role models, hence why players are forever in trouble, be it on or off the field.

i think he's laughing at the timing of it. after all the shit the AFL has gone through this year, what can possibly happen next? of course, a dwarf being set on fire. it's the absurd cherry atop the controversy cake.

The media always jump on the negatives. How about some praise for those brave st kilda players that extinguished a burning dwarf.

Totally disagree with Mcavaney's comment that its an unfortunate incident and move on. That seems to be the consensus in modern life. You can do what you want as long as we "move on".
