Hi folks, yes I am Peter. Let me begin by saying that it was a real pleasure meeting Morgan in person, and as a result, I learned that he is a very nice fellow with whom I would like to continue a friendship. I also realize more than ever how communicating via keyboard lacks the emotional aspect and sometimes civility, that is key in verbal conversations. It makes it far too easy to feel and say things that we would not ordinarily do in person. Anyway, I want to share with you that I never hated Morgan himself but was very upset by what I saw. I commented on his YT videos because I was distressed and concerned for the welfare of his livestock (particularly his cattle). In fact, that is one of the first things that I mentioned to him when he first contacted me by phone. This pretty much is the sole reason why I kept watching Morgan's channel. Not seeing any visual evidence of vaccinations, dewormings, etc. made me very frustrated and even angry, as I felt that his herd was not being given proper care. This resulted in some very direct suggestions and comments by me, some of which were admittedly nasty. Having been an engineer and scientist, I have always made direct statements without any sugar coating. I realize I could have been much more civil and not let my frustrations have me snipe at Morgan. I was very happy to learn during our visit, that Morgan has been giving his livestock more care behind the scenes than I had concluded. I have since "changed my tune" and feel very positive about what Morgan is doing on his farm. To those I may have offended, I apologize. To those who now have ill will toward me as a result of this video, I now have a small taste of what Morgan has been through.

Sometimes it is tough because what is caught on camera and shown may not be the whole picture. So it is good to have a step back sometimes and try to talk. Some things are also more difficult than can be explained in a video. Not much else we can do besides talking.

I think it's wonderful that you were willing to meet with him and that you were able to express your concerns, get reassurance, and admit that your tone may not have been the most effective. With the others shared in this video it's clear they're not worth trying to get through to, but it's good to see you're a real person and reasonable enough to admit what you could've done differently and move forward.

I feel like Peter is an example of how the relative anonymity of the internet can gets to peoples' heads. It's much easier to forget that on the other end of the screen is a human being. People like Peter can be lovely people in truth, but anonymity concentrates any negativity and criticism they may have of a subject. I always try to keep one simple thing in mind online when I'm being critical of someone: "would i say this to their face?"

Hm... I suppose there may be some truth to that. But I personally think it may be a little more of an issue with how people tend to "fill-in-the-blanks" in their heads, they forget to realize how much IS NOT SHOWN in videos or comments or whatever else over the internet or anything else other than actually being there [so to speak ]in those shoes themself, and they mistakenly presume they know more than they actually do know at all. I think it's a misdirected use of our natural human ability to learn or extrapolate through deduction and/or context. ....only, done without consciously realizing or truly grasping that the informational dataset available is incomplete and thus totally impossible to guarantee an accurate deduction from. (Either that, or it's the common mistaken 'logic' or belief that an absence of proof actually equates to proof to the contrary, when in fact that is not even legally true; in truth, quite frankly, a lack of proof merely neither proves nor disproves anything at all.) But maybe that's just me? IDK 😅😁😊 Lol

If I ever find myself feeling steamy about someone’s super rude or ignorant comments in the comment section or a KZbinr I like says something that really don’t agree with, I always take a step back and ask myself if I really care all that much. In the grand scheme of things, is it really that important to me to address their behavior? Usually, no. I make more jokes in the comments I post than anything else and I usually skip over the negativity in the sub-comment threads. But if it really is important, then I’m always very very aware of what words I use, how I phrase things, and the intention I have behind it all (which is usually how it is for everything I write, I can turn writing a page-long paper into a half day assignment). I never, ever send things off in anger. I did that once when I was young and ended up being super rude to a lady whose comment I completely misunderstood. Never the fuck again. 👍🏿

Many farmers: "Farming is dying out. We need more people to embrace raising food and animals." Also many famers, when they see a new farmer doing just that: "You have no idea what you're doing. Go back to fill-in-the-blank city and leave farming to real men who don't afraid of anything!"

The dairy farmer had a point what happens when one of the cows gets mastitis (something almost every cpw goes trough multiple times in their life). Or they get a hoof problem. How is he gonna give them magnets? The cows barely allow brushing they deffo not gonna allow a tube to be put down their necks to swallow a magnet. How they gonna get their vaccines? It's clear as soon as Morgan starts to tell his side of the story that this guy doesn't watch the videos all the way through. He always says that Abby isn't a failure or a bad dog, regardless of what the thumbnail says. He can't take all the chicks from a store because that encourages the store to keep doing what they're doing, and that's not a financially realistic thing to do when you own a farm. And yes, some of his poultry goes to the freezer but Morgan has always said that his goal is to give them a good quality life until that happens. He isn't running a shelter for abandoned animals; he is doing this because it's what he loves and he needs money to live. Crying is normal. It shows that you are human, have feelings, and that you have strong emotions towards certain things. The whole idea that "crying makes you a boy, not a man" is just plain stupid. It's really uplifting and nice, and Peter has been replying to comments here saying that they had a good time. Near the end, Morgan mentions he tried to talk to some beardie TikToker, which was pointless. But at least that part of the video is quick, he doesn't dwell on it too long and just says he's never doing that again. I think you've proved by talking civilly and in person with Peter that a lot of hostility sprouts from seeing an incomplete picture, and filling in the blanks ourselves with what we fear. People who don't work on farms or have much knowledge about farming don't know all the nitty gritty of the lifestyle, like the vet stuff, and we don't really think about what's _missing_ in a video, or a sentence. We're far more interested in the surface level updates. But for someone like Peter - fellow farmers - the missing info is concerning. They doubt the necessary things are being done at all, which is a valid concern! I hope that viewers (in general) understand that we'll never see the entire picture of someone's life, or farm, without actually _being there_ in the thick of it. That should be okay too. We should be allowed to not show our whole life, bare ass naked out there for the world to see and judge to its liking. All that said, I'm glad you could find someone who had some good-faith beef with you to talk it over with. Peter seems like a genuine fellow, and I wish him and his family the best! I want you to know that, no matter how "imperfect" you are, you show you really try your best and you treat your fellow people + animals with the love and respect they deserve. Even the people who try to make you seem like a bad, uncaring, self absorbed person-are still treated with some sort of respect from you and that's not something most people do. You show a lot of maturity in what you say and do and THAT'S what makes you so inspiring! When you make mistakes, you clear things up (even if it wasn't your fault). You take accountability in places other people wouldn't. When you have a troubled animal, you say you're already dedicated to them BEFORE any problems are disclosed to you. It doesn't change your mind. And you're ALWAYS trying to put morals first. You're a good man despite what people are trying to stir up about you for attention. Keep up your work, even if other people try to bring you down! I love seeing what you post. ^^ Edit: One last thing! I just wanted to point out how every person has mocked him for caring about every single animal on his farm to make sure that, even if they're going to be "turned into food", he still cares about their livelihood and well being while they ARE here on this earth. That's a quality more farmers need. Just because they're going to be "killed" in the future, doesn't make their well-being any less important in the now while they're still here. Thank you for being different. Thank you for being a good person, to your animals and others : )

I always enjoy the content, I can see you have an education and background in customer service in making your videos. When I was a kid, we had chickens and a couple ducks, a milk cow, horse.. so when we moved to the city we gladly left those "chores" behind for city life. Now I long for a few chickens in the backyard. Learning again as I watch you is making me rethink everything.

Kudos for contacting and interviewing Peter the Farmer. He does seem like a nice guy. To be honest I had wondered why I never see veterinary work on this series. I just assumed it was going on as all the creatures (great and small-->shout out to James Herriot, author and veterinarian) seem happy and healthy. I highly doubt many of these really angry outliers are actually angry. There are using Gold Shaw Farm (and probably other popular You Tube series) for content. BTW Jonny Wanzer does an excellent imitation of a Troll out to garner views not acquire knowledge. Great video !

Had a look through the content and can see why some get a bit riled. Peter, he's lovely, with being an engineer he is just very precise and straight to the point. Looks like you got on great, learned some things and made a new friend. Much respect to how he treats his animals as well. With the milk operation he takes part in he's definitely a passionate soul. Also, he loves his big guard goat, what a cutie. As for Johnny, I watched his vid thinking "is this a parody?" and the more it went on I realised what it was... The "Butch isnt very good at controlling his dogs" thing cracked me up. Now, the main tiktokker Space Cadet Arse, or whatever he calls himself, isn't really in for contributing any positive point of view. He flat-out lied to get you on his facebook show, mentioning he had a solution to the hound hunters. To extrapolate things further, her REALLY likes to twist words to get an argument his own way. As an older person, I've seen this style of arguing many, many, times in the past. He said you did not believe hound hunting should be banned. However, the post you had was in Vermont only, and nothing to do with people on private land. Also, the way he conducted himself in the interview, I'm not surprised you shut it down. He was desperately point-scoring or trying to cause argument when none necessary. You did the right thing. When called to quell other viewers points of view, you dodged a loaded shell from a possible tiktok video "Morgan berates his fans". I'm not going to mince words here. SCA isn't really about discussion, especially when he starts name-calling in his videos and hanigng onto (albeit clickbaity) titles of videos to try and weasel his point across. Way I see it is that he is threatened that a similar channel is doing just as well as he is. Seems the only way he's doing this is for clicks. There's no financial or social benefit from insults. Also, a message if he is watching (I ain't gonna waste time to creat a tiktok account soley for this, or add to his views/algorithm) for someone wanting to use a stick of integrity to beat someone with; "How about you conduct yourself in a sensible and professional manner towards other human beings? You're more likely to get a positive response and less likely to come across as a douche." Enough said on the matter. Moving on.

amen. SCA honestly just sounds like a kid who had his toys taken away from him and is having a tantrum in his tiktoks, its a shame as he is getting funds from the tiktok creators fund form this. its slimly weasly and clickbaity. I would honestly still tell tiktok as I'm sure this borders on harassment and bullying on SCA's behalf.. ( not to mention deformation and slander/libel). but that's my 2 cents on it.

My son has a YT channel and other creators (I use the term loosely) ride off the coattails of his channel as well. They like to create drama where there is none for the sake of creating their own $$ It’s not the first nor the last. His is a gaming channel but these trolling predictable KZbinrs are all the same. Their content basically is nonexistent and stale. Morgan has enough subscribers, views and sponsors where he is doing well. These others will fade away eventually bc followers who like this drama get bored and move onto the next. A mature intelligent adult who has a real interest, like Dairy Farmer, in the welfare of animals, would actually take the time and do an educated discussion/meeting.

The fact that you've never professed to be an expert, and have always been forthcoming about the fact you're always learning and that you make mistakes has always said a lot about you and your character, your humility. It's a sad fact that when you post stuff online not only do you open yourself up to abuse and hateful comments from angry, negativistic people who should be putting their energy and time into something more constructive, but also when a portion of your life is frequently online people believe they have some sort of agency and ownership over your content/ your life and even your beliefs/statements. Also this is very mature of you Morgan, good on you bud. I've always respected you and your ventures, and when you've made mistakes you put your hands up and owned up to them, admitting you effed up, talked about what you've learnt and how you're going to do better. Morgan, in spite of all the negative talk that crops up from some folks, I for one, really enjoy your content. It is one of the bright spots in my day. the fact that you are able and willing to try to talk to your critics, that you show raw emotion, that you admit when things didn't go to plan just makes you a better person. as to the vet care one way you could sort of incorporate it into your videos is to set it up doing your normal daily routine and then break away from it saying "ah the vet is here for ___" and that you will catch us up on what went down. or you could always say something about needing to rush through the chores as the doc should be there at X time. that way you are alluding to the fact that goes on while still respecting the docs request to not be in any of the videos.
