'Does anyone have the time?' 😂 Love the 'Ron'. As for his 'root beer', I'd ask him if he meant 'A&W' as a shout out to school days hanging around the joint in SG/MY... or if his Mum sees it, she would have called it 'kuih talam' (local Malay coconut and palm sugar dessert)... 😋 and if you put his Hulk/Root Beer together, Malays will see the Ondeh-Ondeh connection (green and brown Malay traditional dessert). So the truth is out: Ronnie has a craving for home 'sweets' among his watch treats! 😂 ... Loved what he said of the Ron (Rolex Date Just) as a tee shirt combo go-to watch! It's so 'Asian Uncle'. I have my late father’s 36mm DateJust on my wrist today, only a mechanical watch can be passed down from father to son, i can’t see that happening with an Apple Watch Series 3 for example.
@9feetfrog3 жыл бұрын
Absolutely. An Apple Watch, unless it’s the very first edition, even if it’s just rolled out of production today, will be worth literally nothing in a few years. The firmware will be outdated within a year and that means it’s going to be unable to support updated apps. And don’t forget the Battery which will not be holding charge in couple of years. Long live the mechanical watches.

Really loved this episode. Very genuine, honest, and hilarious episode. Shoutout to Daniel Dae Kim as well as that is a top 5 Talking Watches episode for me. Same for me getting into watches during the pandemic. I literally started being interested in mechanical watches after a Jack Forster video talking about the best watches in every price range came into my feed randomly. Bought my first mechanical watch within weeks, sold my smartwatch, and wearing it right now. For me, the best watch in this collection is the FOIS and then the Datejust. Two-tone Datejusts are the perfect embodiment of the 1970s and 1980s even as I did not live in those time periods. Nice to see some fresh variants like this GMT Master II that is quite uncommon. You can't go wrong with the most popular variants as they are popular for a reason and regular people don't really wear watches but I appreciate the extra effort to make your collection a bit more special!
