Hello Linor :) I would like to say a BIG thank you to you and to Capucine Chiaudani. I'm a beginner and I never really understood what support is. This is the first time I understand the basic idea behind this obscure word. It's actually NOT just breathing into your belly and there are sooo many videos on YT which teach it that way!

Thank you for this intelligent and generous conversation- generous in offering your knowledge! Thanks to many years of study but more recently my classes with Linor, I have been able to put together many essential elements for classical singing. Capucine's comment about the resistance was another key to the code- and I could feel, while I dropped my jaw during this video, how THAT for me, creates the feeling of resistance and I had never linked dropping the jaw correctly, to the sense of resistance/leaning on the vocal cords. I did read a long time ago that it took Pavarotti 5 years to learn to drop his jaw. This seems absolutely related to the resistance point. thank you!

Just breath "enough"...and remember...very often less is more. It is not about pushing the breath...it is about resisting it

I do have a question about the neck "Support". I find this fascinating. One of my teachers said the Italians call the back of the neck "la cucina del canto" (please forgive misspelling!) Can you explain more about this?

Well....la cucina del canto means: the kitchen of singing. The Neck Support actually stabilizes boht larynx and velum
