I don't see this work, unless they add an accumulator to make it competitive. Versatility is key to me, and this can't do anything else but baling, when it's done it sits in a shed all year. 2:20 update yourself, New Holland, John Deere and others probably as well, have automated this process. (Intellisteer combined with autocommand transmission for NH)

The problem with this is that it probably costs around $200,000. Where I could go buy a new tractor for the same amount, but I can use that for planting, baling, tillage, and cutting. Anyway the pric3 for what it can do is way to high and not worth it for most people.

Christian Gierach its the same as a swather really, it only makes sense to guys who only do custom work or have extremely large operations dependent on hay/straw

A self propelled baler is a great thing for farmers who do a lot of hay production. That's going to do well like when John Deere came out with the cotton harvester that baled up cotton while it is picking.

Lovely invention but it needs to be a nonstop round baler to be really ahead now, lely round baler nonstop is a tractor powered one but nonstop has brilliant capacity I've tried one and the output is amazing 👌. Also in the uk anyway you cant bale at high speeds really cos the tramlines are that bloody deep cos of the wet weather 🤷‍♂️ in other countries it would be alright though 😊 . Otherwise a good invention just needs progressing 👌😊.

ive never had the roughness of a field limit baling speed, the only thing that slows a round baler down is how hungry it is and how hard youre willing to push before slipping the drive clutch. if you're in a field where you're limited by how rough it is, there isnt enough hay there worth baling....

You haven't been in our hay fields. Rough as hell and still makes a couple tons per acre. 20+ year old stands

I am assuming you can lift the header because as it sat in the video it was lower than the rim on the drive tires and when you get a flat it would in essence be sitting on the header not the rim.

Yes the header raises and lowers for infield adjustment and road transport. A pull type works this way too.

hhuuummm is vermeer coming out with a self propelled large square baler? Here in AZ large square bales seems to be prefereed for there density and shape for "shipping" on semi trucks.

Several people have asked about this. Vermeer currently does not offer a big baler so it would take time to develop. Vermeer round balers are well known and the self propelled machine uses the popular pull type round baler in it. Right now it makes a good combination for round baling.

Round bales are used primarily on the farm or ranch where they are baled or nearby feedlots and are mechanically fed and are not retail sized packaging. Arizona's medium sized bales are retail sized and sold to "horse people" and are manually fed to animals. A significant portion of Arizona's large squale bales are exported to Saudi Arabia and rich middle east countries for race horse breeding operations.

Hey my good friend that is one hell of a machine, I just seen Zack's recent video Minnesota Millennium farmer and I think One Lonely Farmer would love to have this Bailer he has been running the Chrome I'm not for sure how you spell it but that's one hell of a Balor if you haven't seen his videos go check them out that thing is a beast for a pull-behind... And are you about done down there in louiville or is it still going on pretty good and if you don't mind me asking what do you have coming next I would love to see some Oliver's and whites no big hurry those are my favorite tractors and another thing there is so much awesome equipment in the farming industry it's just mind-blowing on the technology and people think video games are cool LOL have a good one my good friend safe travels👍👍👊👊😎😎🎩🎩

I have a WHITE 9700 combine with a 2-155 tractor video on the way. The NFTS was from 2/14 to 2/17. I have a months worth of video footage to share from the show. OLF has an informative channel. The Krone Big Baler really gets the job done. I hope to film one some day.

Yeah it's getting crazier and crazier on Yt these days! I do think if Vermeer ever did try manufacturing a heavy-duty farm pickup, it would sell like hotcakes. But I imagine all the red tape for meeting NHTSA requirements on start-up is cost prohibitive. I'd buy one though! Their stuff is bullet-proof.
