@@chiefscheider I don't remember honestly.....I know we met him because it was originally supposed to be me who play that part but I was too scared to do it so my dad filled in and I can remember shaking his hand and that he was a nice guy but that's about it..... We met John Goodman and I can tell you that he was a jerk LMAO he wasn't friendly at all and told racist jokes pretty much the whole time we were there LMAO of course this was at the beginning of his career so I'm sure he's a much different, more grown up person now LOL I remember meeting him because we spent a lot more time with him then we did with David Byrnes. David Byrne if I recall correctly came in and shook everybody's hand and then left pretty much but we spent the entire day around John Goodman.

But that’s just it: David Byrne is not “weird” or trying to be . . . you are witnessing unrestricted genius. There are those who try to harness WEIRD for affect. Salvador Dali, Byrne, Nina Hagen, Timothy Leary, etc. were just doing their thing: they never for one minute thought of themselves as weird.
@ArgoLupus4 жыл бұрын
@@zaidaali4688 -- I don't think we disagree. When I said, "dare to be weird", I could have been saying, "dare to be themselves." Of course, lots of artists today and in history have had annoying affectations (Lord Byron took a goose with him everywhere), but please don't think I was saying Byrne et. al . are not being authentic; quite the opposite.

Later they had Karla DeVito, whom Jim Steinman stole for Meatloaf's Bat Out Of Hell. Anyway, Rick said that David Byrne did a lot of acid, and "boy , was he weird". I always think of that, because they were all weird then. It's on KZbin. We were more commercial but less successful, oh well, I wasin the Karla DeVito spot, it was crazy fun, Rick still does gigs in Boston. We were on Mtv at least, witha song called People Live, witha Baptist choir. Im in the white dress. Easier to find under Steven Paul Perry, Good old 80's!!

Thanks Travis, and Chris. That's awesome! He is one of my favorite actors. My dad introduced me to these guys when I was in Middle-School, and this has always been one of my favorites. I'd never seen the music video before though.

Caleb Dziepak I'm certain it was. Just a trivia question somewhere. Definitely before, "Rosanne".

carefull it could make you a psycho killer then again life during wartime can be difficult! but the lady dont mind if you take me to the river to get some water cuz someone was burning down the house, and there she was.with slippery people, it was once in a lifetime. but i know my girlfriend is better.she was born under punches, cross eyed and painless.shed often stay up late wondering if this must be the place. i brought her nothing but flowers and told her dont worry about the government. ...... I THANK YOU!

I started listening to Talking Heads today, and I’m falling through their rabbit hole. I should’ve listened to them sooner. Their videos are somehow nostalgic and timeless at the same time.

Talking Heads were truly one of the most original and creative bands rock has produced, both sonically and visually. It's a way overused word, but I do think they were brilliant.

This video summarizes my entire MTV experience watching it as a kid during its early years from early to mid-1980's. Love all the parodies of popular acts at the time.
