Revelation… I have scriptures come to my mind. I'm pretty good at remembering scripture, but I never remember the exact wording typically. However when God is speaking to me these scriptures come so clearly to my mind. The wording is exact and I know it's not from me but a message from Him!

Great discussion. One thought about Peter and John in D&C 7. In verse 5 the Lord says that ... "he (John) might do more, or a greater work [here is the kicker] yet among men than what he has before done." Than what he has before done. Here and in verse 6 it is highly likely that that "greater" can mean more, or additional work than what was done prior to that point. Christ probably was not saying that John had a better grip on God thought than Peter. In verse 7 it is reaffirmed that to Peter and James "...I (Jesus) will give this power and the keys of this ministry until I come." Peter presides over the missionary and gospel, and church work that John will be engaged in. Verse 8 informs us that they will both have joy in their equally righteous desires. Just as a plumber is equal in standing before the Lord along side the credentialed professor; one calling and desire, if righteous and if it conforms to the mind and will of the Lord, is equal to another calling and desire. The farmer who receives his second anointing is just as anointed as an apostle who receives that ordinance. Yet they have different tasks, responsibilities, and assignments. You guys are great. Oliver has the gift of Arron aka the rod (I believe) in part because God set him up as a type of Aaron. 2 Nephi 3 I believe Lehi prophesies of the 4 Joseph's and specifically says Joseph Smith jr will be a type of Moses. Then it talks about how Moses was given Aaron to help him. The chapter talks about how Aaron was a more educated mouthpiece, Aaron to dictate for Moses, Aaron had this rod, Aaron had the priesthood, Aaron was Moses 2nd in command. The exact same roles as Oliver to Joseph!

Notice that the Lord says you will feel RIGHT not good. There is a difference. If a couple is in a parked car making out does it feel good? Of course it feels good, our bodies are designed for that. But does it feel RIGHT? No it does not. The Savior is in the Garden of Gethsemane atoning for the sins of mankind: does it feel good? No but it feels RIGHT. Always pray for, look for and follow the RIGHT feelings.

I always wondered why Jesus told Peter something so depressing about his fate. But I believe l that after Peter denied Jesus 3 times (and Jesus told Peter he would) that Jesus was letting Peter know he would never falter like that again.
