It is quite a shame that Poland thinks of Romania as a contender and thus both Romania and Poland loose a lot of opportunities. For example, it is a lot cheaper for UE to rely on Romanian natural gas! I personally think that if someone promote the american LNG it is serving dirty obscure interests!

Sure, as always a Romanian with a wide perspective. Romanians are not capable to do much there .They can't exploit by themselves those resources without foreign help. That help was supposedly to be Austria, a country which compromise many relations in the Est by allowing Russian interest to enter by back doors in Roumania and other countries. You want or not ,Europe has to balance its commercial affair with USA and Trump will press hard on it. As Germany exports to USA are the most , EU will have to buy from USA more.

Reyling on only one source of gas is also dangerous. having multipley supplyers lowers prices and increases energy security. Let's have gas through multiple pipe lines from various soures, Azerbaijan, Russia, Romania etc.

Ukraine's decision to stop Ru pipeline gas transit through its territory is a classical case of "cutting your nose (US$100m monthly transit fees) to spite your face". Come 20 January 2025 Ukraine must face the prospect of loss of US military & financial support, plus his army is on its last legs, with critical manpower/equipment/ammo shortages.

Nuclear powerplants that would not just produce electricity, but also district heating for the big cities of Europe, would be the answer. Normally only about 30% of the energy output from the nuclear fuel can be converted to eletricity, while the remaining 70% is losses, mostly cooling water to a sea, alt. let off as steam from cooling towers. But it doesn't have to be that way. The cooling water can easily be taken out at a bit higher temperature, at 80-90 C, which is perfect for district heating. In fact this technology has long been in use in all major cities in the Nordic countries, only with coal or bio fuel burning power plants. But that doesn't make a difference because the energy conversion process from the fuel to the output energy (electricity, hot water) is the same in nuclear power plants as coal or bio fuel power plants. It is by heating water, creating steam, and leading it through turbines which drive the generator making electricity. And condensation of the steam back to liquid water, which thereby is heated. Some heat exchangers in between to isolate different circuits of water, but that doesn't change the logic. By utilizing the remaining 70% for district heating, you get that "energy for free". Because now it is just wasted. However investment in the district heating pipe network is needed. Heating and electricity on demand, in any weather, at low cost, at no CO2 output. If only the green cabbage heads in Germany and other places could get this into their heads, the solution is at hand. An added benefit of nuclear electric & district heating power plants would be that at summer when much less heating is needed, that excess hot water can just be cooled off the old fashion way. Or letting the power plant run low in the summer, and let cheap solar panel powerplants pick up the slack in the summer for purely electric production. And gas would not be needed anymore. Ever.

Poland could have used its proximity to Russia to get cheap natural gas and access to a huge market. They squandered this opportunity and followed the washington's orders. Now they pay huge amounts for the US and Quatar gas and have become a frontline country.

For every 1€ worth of pipeline gas that EU buys from Z, Z gets a few cents worth of profit, because production and delivery costs money. If USA LNG costs 4X more than Z pipeline gas, EU would save 3€ for every few cents that Z can earn from selling pipeline gas to EU. EU can donate 1€ to Ukraine for every 1€ paid to Z for pipeline gas. In addition, Ukraine can earn some transit fees. So cutting off Z funds can’t be the real reason for blocking Z pipeline gas. In business, it’s not about reducing cost, but rather increasing profits.

EU the obedient dog of US is constantly shooting itself in the foot and killing their progress so that US, the dying empire that is wrecking the world can survive a little longer. Now buying 4x more expensive US LNG. The stupidity of your statement is mine-boggling.
