11/02/23 UPDATE !! Talkpod promised me a fix for the issue I mentioned about not being able to access channels over 256 ...... WELL, THE FIX HAS ARRIVED! GO TO TALKPOD'S SITE, AND GO TO FIRMWARE AND SOFTWARE, DOWNLOAD THE LATEST VERSION. IT SHOWS 1.23 BUT IT WILL ACTUALLY DOWNLOAD 1.24 WHICH ADDRESSES THIS ISSUE THAT I TOLD TALKPOD ABOUT! BRAVO TALKPOD!

I see on another video the radio showing channel NAMES. I can do Channel mode, frequency mode and thats it. Any help appreciated.

Hi. If you programming with CHIRP, you can enter names for your channels, then go to menu 11, where you can select to show frequency OR channel OR name. Hope this helps!

Talkpod is aware that the print in their manual is too small -- my radio came with a small (credit card style) magnifying glass!

Scan it and enlarge the screen on the computer. Also they have a scan code to get the entire manual.

Are there better antennas that you can recommend?

There are way too many good antennas out there and many people will have different opinions on models! I use NA771 by Nagoya, and they are pretty good. Signal sticks are also very good antennas. I have been quite happy with the stock antenna on this radio and I get pretty good reception with them. I guess they are better tuned than others.

buy uvk5 much MUCH better then this, and they can be unlocked up to several ghz
