Did she have a large amount of savings? If not, she could have claimed benefits, and I think that you’re making things up. I don’t like Starmer, I won’t ever vote Labour again, and women were fooled into voting for them. Their common sense should have told them that WASPI women were NEVER going to get compensation. What they have got, is equality with men, so why should they be compensated for that? The initial announcement to the equalisation of the pension age was announced in 1995, John Major’s government. Your mum should have taken notice, and please don’t try telling me that it was never announced and kept secret etc, as that is not true.

Why couldn't she work? I had two kids and was back at work with 3 p/t cleaning jobs when my son was only a month old - it was that or starve! No year off for maternity then and I've got to work till 67 (in a manual hard job too!)
