Nick de Bois absolutely nailed it by saying that while we were in the EU there was a serious problem with accountability. I completely agree with that. All the problems we are seeing now aren't problems with leaving the EU, some of them weren't even problems caused by joining the EU, many of them are years of comfortable and corrupt "leadership" in the UK at the behest of the EU, so for decades all these problems have been swept under the carpet and ignored. Now that we've ripped the bandage off through greater sovereign accountability we for the first time in decades able to directly point the finger at our government and demand that they actually do something about it, and we can keep the pressure on relentlessly until it's done. And they hate that. It means they have to do work. And it also means that they are responsible. The other problem with British politics is that when politicians are removed from office, they go and spend the rest of their lives in the house of lords, where they block every single piece of progress that might benefit the UK.
@johnpaget1664 сағат бұрын
I couldn't agree more all the time we were in the EU our politicians didn't have to make decisions, but even now they rely to much on the treasury the obr and economists who are always wrong, because none have any experience of business.
@atlasnetwork7855Сағат бұрын
@@johnpaget166 Exactly, they have become complacent and lazy. Why would they do anything knowing they can just coast through doing nothing, collecting a 6 figure salary and any benefits and gifts? Why would they make work for themselves? And that's the problem if they just drift through in neutral, that's really bad for the UK, because we'll get all the policies that our politicians are too lazy to object to. Hence we are here now!
