“The Country Is Run By Civil Servants!” | ‘No Democratic Accountability’ For The Blob

Talk’s Nick de Bois is joined by former Conservative peer and writer Matt Ridley to discuss the General Election.
Matt says that whoever wins the election, the Civil Service will run the country.
"Their accountability is not as democratic as it should be. Ministers are constrained in how much they can influence what happens in the country,” he adds.

Artificially increasing the population via mass migration ruins the environment and the economy (too many consumers chasing too few resources). After the Great Plague of the Middle Ages, which reduced the total population of Europe by a massive 1/3, living standards for the poor improved and workers were able to organize into trade unions for the first time ever! If the total population of Europe were comprised of only 1 million native Europeans, each European would enjoy an extremely high standard of living!

My view is that no-one should be given full British citizenship or the vote unless they're born from at least one British citizen or their family has been settled in this country for at least 3 generations. Over the last 40 years foreign born political and religious activists are tearing shreds in a society that has been delicately woven over a thousand years.

I have been the same thing for years, we have the liberal left establishment who think, they should govern and we the plebs should do as we are told. They hated Brexit and have fought it for years, and now with Starmer likely to PM, are to overturn it over a period of time. They hated when Boris won a massive and sought to get rid of him, he did what the people wanted and was popular (as the other creature of the establishment stated, 'we must reject popularist politicians, i.e listen to the establishment politicians only), they hated it when the Tory membership voted for Truss, rather then establishment creature Sunak, so they sound got rid of her and got their man in, even if he is useless. To quote Oliver Anthony from his song 'Richmen North of Richmond', a brilliant song that spoke for the silent majority in America and the world (worth a listen), the line in the song goes "they (the rich and the political classes) want total control" and that sums the liberal left establishment in the UK and throughout the world to the people.

It's no good trying to deflect blame onto the Civil Service. It's always government Ministers who have responsibility and who make the final decisions. The Civil Service just executes those decisions or attempts to, even if the decisions are bonkers, but the government can't expect the Civil Service to break the law for them. That's against the Civil Service Code and against the Ministerial Code also.

Democracy….. ahhh. Don’t you just LOVE IT ! ? A land where government DOES what the people actually WANT & NEED ! Oh dear…You NEVER had that mate. NEVER will. BECAUSE…You have the WRONG political system. Maybe it was a good idea 300 years ago, but not for today nor tomorrow. It generally attracts the wrong sort of people for a start!. I mean, just look at their schoolyard behaviour where “point scoring” put-downs of other elected members of parliament is considered a “win”! Essentially most of them are “bully salesmen” who try to persuade and bribe you, that ONLY THEIR ideas are great (vote for MEEEE). Sadly, ALL parties do the same - Was designed to be like that !! The notion that ALL the PEOPLE HAVE CLEAR NEEDS is not even considered!!. Another childhood dream is that “Competition” yields the best results! This has some truth, but only in the very short term!. COOPERATION YIELDS THE BEST CONTINUOUS SUSTAINABLE IMPROVEMENTS. JUST PROGRESS LIKE YOU’VE NEVER SEEN BEFORE Establish a national “Register of Visions” summarising the Will of the People. (Health, Housing, Education, Employment, Crime & Safety, Drugs, Immigration, Taxation, Societal Cohesion, Foreign Affairs, Welfare, Trade & Industry, etc etc ). A register Established at census time for each Voter - with real-time Web access for timely updates like Gaza, Ukraine etc etc ad nauseam. And don’t worry, AI will make short work of creating a succinct coherent unambiguous statement of requirements from the millions of Vision submissions! Certainly a BETTER WAY for the Nation. (Unless of course you are already part of the 1% thriving/thieving elite , then yes, you will experience a relative decline in your unwarranted privilege, decadence and legalised theft!). At the moment, China looks remarkably democratic when compared with you lot !
