Thank you David for sharing Bhagavans life with us. I saw one of your videos a little over 2 years ago knowing nothing of Bhagavan, since then my life has changed completely for the better. I see Bhagavans image in your videos and I feel familiarity and peace. Blessings to you David Godman.

In my recent trip to the Sri Ramanasraman, I saw you (David) walking in with someone. I only said a casual 'hello' but I do consider it a good fortune, having read many of your books. Of course, it was Paul Brunton who introduced me to Sri Bhagawan way back. My sincere respects to all who showed me in, in various ways 🙏🙏🙏

What happens when we realise that all seeking is simply the normal mechanical action of egoic mind. Being is beyond anything that can ever be found, or surely revealed by a guru. Self consciousness is only our teacher as we discover more fulfilling ways to play in separation. I had to move away from a great guru for this reason. It seems I will live die by only the inner voice.

People should volunteer to clean up the tank and establish some residential areas around it. Seems like a nice place to spend your time meditating. Alas, few in India today have time for such activities.

Thanks so much David for making these wonderful videos, really appreciate them. I decide to watch one, but it is inevitably followed by just one more and then another one... thank you for documenting Sri Ramana's life and teachings with so much care and diligence, and also for your books. Bhagavan made an excellent choice in allocating these tasks to you!

David ji, I plan to return to India (in UP) this year in summer. I have a PhD in Environmental Engr. And, in case there are efforts going on to clean Palakottu tank, and the environment around Ramanasramam, please do let me know. I would like to volunteer and offer whatever help I can. And the rattling and crashing sounds, did not detract me! (Perhaps because I am so used to the traffic sounds from the UP town I grew up in :D )

Dear Mr. Godman, thank you, from the depths of my heart, for sharing this information with the wider world! If I could speak to you personally, I would probably be tempted to tell you more about how your work, both in and of itself, as well your reflection of the light that Sri Ramana Maharshi shone into this world, (a light which is far from finished shining) have dovetailed perfectly into the events that comprise my own search for truth... but as you do not know me, and such detailed confessional narrative would constitute gross oversharing on my part, I will content myself with stating that, in my opinion, there are probably countless people, countless lives, spreading out in ripples of exponential scale, throughout time and space who are being positively influenced and uplifted by what you/Sri Ramana Maharshi did, and are doing. I know that I can't be the only one, and if I told you of the poetically synchronistic way in which I discovered first Sri Ramana Maharshi, and secondly your own substantial efforts to preserve and transmit his legacy, the divine way it flowed into my own life, you would probably laugh; but you wouldn't be surprised, of that I'm certain. Blessings be upon you and yours, and upon all the works you have done and upon all the works you will yet accomplish... for you are undoubtedly making a difference! Godspeed. Thank you again, sincerely, -Naomi

It is interesting that in this account Somerset Maugham wouldn't accept money for his screenplay about The Razor's Edge . Out of interest I tried to discover just how interested in spirituality Maugham was , and I found a video of him in which he basically said that money making was his religion . So for someone who was devoted to money , it was strange that he declined payment for the screenplay . Obviously as an art lover he couldn't turn down the offer of a Matisse - personally I would have held out for a Modigliani! Keep on throwing the anecdotal ball David and I will chase after it , bring it back ,band indicate that you should throw it again 😊🕉️

If you ever have need of a laborer indoors or outdoors I would be glad to work for a small living quarters or camping spot and two small meals per day.. Heat does not bother me and hard work is like second nature to me. I am feeling the pull strongly, need to be close to the fire of Ramana Arunachala.

@DG: I can’t thank you enough for your matter of fact narration that drew me to Sri Bhagvan’s teachings originally. Following your and Michael James’ references, I was able to dig deep in to the original thamizh works of Sri Ramana, Sri muruganar and Sri sadhu Om swamigal. Many thanks for the same. However, it would be remiss of me if I don’t point out that your pronunciation of ‘palakottu’ needs to be changed :-). Before I went to thiruvannamalai, I listened to all your videos and I couldn’t quite place what is the Thamizh word that corresponds to this place. It sounds like Thamizh word but I couldn’t get the meaning of it. Then I went to tiruvannamalai and heard for the first time how the locals pronounced it and it made all the sense. The difference is you are pronouncing it as ‘Paala kottu’. The actual name is ‘Palaa kothu’. This means Jackfruit grove. Even among Thamizh speaking folks, the name is a bit confounding as some interpret it as ‘pazha kothu’ which simply means a ‘bunch of fruits’ or ‘fruit grove’. However, if you listen to how Annamalai swamigal refer to the place ‘pelaa kothu’. He is completely capable of pronouncing the ‘zha’ sound (kzbin.info/www/bejne/goSldmiqfdWGgdk) but specifically says ‘pelaa kothu’ which is a colloquial way of pronouncing ‘palaa kothu’ both of which means ‘bunch of jackfruit’ or ‘jackfruit grove’. Now if you can investigate on this notorious jackfruit tree, it would close the case forever. ❤😂

You brought Bhagavad to me and I have gained so much in my spiritual journey, engaging in the Self-enquiry.

I paused this video and watched the original 1946 movie The Razor’s Edge hoping to witness transformation, but as David said MGM trashed the screenplay written by Somerset and had someone Hollywood it up which missed the mark. I’m not a big fan of what comes out of Hollywood.

Hi, David I think I saw you in Ramanashram on 22nd Jan in the morning, But I was not sure so didn't approach. I have a question which is a bit off topic for this video: There is one guy called Ramakant Maharaj, he says he has received the naam mantra from Nisargadatta Maharaj. Since you visited Nisargadatta Maharaj several times have you ever heard about this guy ? or even seen this guy ? Check the following for his photo and bio: www.ramakantmaharaj.net
