Why are you more offended than Usyk, his manager and his team. Even most Ukrainians watching were giving credit to AJ for holding the Ukrainian flag, praising Usyk and his greatness. How are Brits pretending to be more upset with AJ's action than Usyk and the Ukrainians he supposedly offended. 😂

Yes it was bloody embarrassing. The sign of a true sportsman is to be dignified in defeat and show respect to the competition that has outclassed them. To throw the belts was bad enough but to storm off and then return to steel Usyk’s thunder was unforgivable. Look how Lewis Hamilton came up and shook Verstappen by the hand even though he felt he had been cheated. He gained respect from fans who probably didn’t support him because he was sporting. Joshua has lost fans through being un sporting. He was out boxed end of.

They've known for years. It's common knowledge that Joshua and his team have dodged Wilder, Fury and a host of super credible US fights for literal years in favour of fighting nobody's at home in the 02 - happy to take the money and let him be the poster boy because they all knew once he gets in with an actual elite fighter its all over. His record is the definition of padded, the only recognisable name on there is Klitschkow and he was like 80 when AJ bravely stepped into the ring and made a fucking meal out of that as well.

I think this is a strange one because everyone keeps talking about 'the pressure' that AJ has been under. Usyk was fighting in a war. Left his homeland and some of his family and friends behind, to fight for a world championship, while his country is still being invaded. One of those scenarios sounds like pressure to me, the other scenario sounds like someone who believed their own hype for too long (eg: his corner telling him he won rounds when he did not) and finally getting a reality check. AJ can box, he just met a man who is a far superior boxer to him and should learn from this, that he is a good boxer and NOT a great boxer.

Fed to the wolves? Said he is stronger than Usyk and Usyk out-skilled him. Chucked some belts out of the ring that really mean nothing. Paid respect to Usyk and his win. If it was anyone else less would’ve been said but he’s meant to be this clean ambassador of the sport. Made a rod for his own back, his name has been built as a business so people are upset to see him be annoyed because he should only be an upstanding citizen at all times. Fuck that, it’s better that then a press conference “I tried my hardest in their tonight, me and the team will go back to the drawing board and try and come back better” That’s boring as f***, if you feel a certain way, express it, he didn’t start punching people up.

@@jarviswest4888 The reason why so many more people favoured AJ instead of clearly superior boxers like Tyson Fury and Usyk, was boxer AJ was indeed an ambassador for boxing who has a calm charismatic persona that makes snowflakes and casual fans becoming more comfortable with the thought of getting more involved with the boxing world. The seeing AJ get upset in public has clearly spooked them, hence the overreaction from fans. The thing I disagree with is: “Give him credit for taking the fight. Most fighters would have taken an easier fight then got back in to things and fought Usyk” For clarification, this is not how boxing works. Most fighters, when given the opportunity to fight for five belts, JUMP at the opportunity. To turn down a shot at the belts is literally unheard of. Additionally, had he taken another easier fight, it could have been years before he had another shot at them. So taking the fight was expected…not an act of bravery IMO.

Jeez, Joshua has just lost the respect of millions of boxing fans around the World, throwing those belts out of the ring, was the most disrespectful thing that he could have done, especially to the champion Usyk, but also to the sport of boxing, i am glad that he got beat, & its the result that i expected. In the sport of boxing the belts are the prize, & that was Usyk,s moment, but selfish Joshua made it all about him. As for him retiring, that is NOT going to happen, as long as "shyester" Eddie knows that there is money to be made, he will NOT let him, but his behaviour was embarrassing, & shameful.

As soon as the bell rang at the end of the twelfth, he’d gained a lot more respect from me. After the schooling he’d gotten in the first fight I was shocked by how much he’d closed the gap and gave a really good account of himself. He was just beaten by a better boxer, and there’s no shame in losing to someone with the quality Usyk possesses. Everything after that completely took away all the respect I had for him. I’d already grown weary of his virtue signalling nonsense prior, with all the BLM stuff, etc, but was still a fan of his. I judged him on his performance. After his petulant, arrogant, embarrassing outburst I’ve lost all respect. He embarrassed the entire country. To be so condescending towards a guy who’s handily beaten him twice and calling for “hip hip hoorays” afterwards was just cringeworthy beyond belief. I was actually blushing with second hand embarrassment. I could feel my cheeks flushing. I saw a man who’d put the best version of himself, as a boxer, in the ring and still coming up short. Still not good enough. Then the crushing realisation that he’s probably never getting to where he was in the sport ever again. Must be difficult to stomach but it’s no excuse to show the level of condescension, disrespect and contempt for his opponent and the sport.

@Boxing Truth Avoided Chisora??? Joshua has already beaten numerous guys who have beaten or are better than Chisora, such as Klitshko, Whyte, Povetkin, and Parker. Whyte and Parker both beat Chisora twice in the last few years (maybe look up their records?). Also, Ortiz is overrated by Wilder fans. He only got to the amateur World Championship quarter finals in 2004, whilst Povetkin whom Joshua TKO'd, won Olympic and World Championship gold in 2002 and 2003. Povetkin also has a better resume than Ortiz as a pro. Wilder and Fury tied each other up for the last few years with their 3 fight trilogy, and purposely locked Joshua out of fighting them. Wilder himself said that he chose to fight Fury for less money, rather than take a higher offer to fight Joshua. Before that Wilder was fighting people outside of the top 20 for his title defences, like Washington, Molina, Spizka, an unranked fat retired Stiverne, etc, and avoiding anyone good like Klitchko. And Fury was serving an 18 month drugs ban and was out of the sport. Wilder's team mainly chose to fight Fury because they thought the man was broken by his 18 month lay off. Fury had drug problems, severe depression, and ballooned up to over 400lbs. However, to Wilder's surprise, a below 100% Fury completely outboxed him. Then after Fury had a bit more time to get back to his best, Wilder found that he had no chance, and he was battered around the ring for the next 2 fights. You should change your name to Boxing Biased, because I'm not even a Joshua fan, but I have to be fair to him and say that his resume is decent, and he has fought a lot more top 10 fighters than Wilder, whose resume was truly awful before the Fury trilogy. Wilder gets some props for those 3 fights, because Fury is No1, but like I said, I think that he first picked Fury because the guy was not 100% from his lay off and health issues. Then he had to keep rematching him because Fury was beating him, and he wanted to reclaim his title.

Bruce, I understand your sentiment, but let’s consider a few things. AJ is an international superstar. He gets pretty much what he wants when he wants it. Never has to worry about money again, and does what he wants. Then you have the real world. I lost my wife of 30 years and 17 year old daughter in the span of months. People are truly suffering around the world, and here is AJ throwing a childish fit, acting like a prima-Donna pretty much demanding everyone feel sorry for him. Essentially he has lost touch with reality IMO. I have no hatred toward the man, but simply cannot bring my self to feel sorry for him, in any way, shape, or form. Especially when you consider all the talk he’s done in the past about “staying humble” and “accepting life’s challenges with dignity”. He obviously doesn’t practice what he preaches and that is the true disappointment here. I hope that makes sense as to why some people find it hard to feel sorry for him. I see no point in kicking anyone when they are down (regardless of how trivial it is) but feeling sympathy for them is a bit much from my perspective. To each is own, however. I’m just giving another side of the equation. Thx

Also, you mentioned AJ’s abilities. I agree completely with you he is a good heavyweight…at best. Certainly not this generational hall of fame fighter Hearns made him out to be. His expectations were so cut off. His always been pretending and that is exactly what Dillian Wythe has been trying to tell the whole world that AJ is not real and is fake. I'm so upset and disappointed in him. No excuses. He should just call it a day. He tried to give reasons for his wayward behavior but messed it up more. I believe it was a complete mental breakdown.

He never created “his hype” it’s Mr Hearn that’s responsible for that. Unfortunately much of the public also believe the hype. AJ has nothing to be ashamed of , he fought his heart out and has always tried his best, there’s nothing else a man can do.

When you have fan boys like Simon Jordan defending Joshua when for when he goes out threatening break students jaw, his ego is going to reach a level when he thinks it's always about him Jordan still defending him😂🤣😅 He took the fight because he had nowhere else to go. And, no, he couldn't have gone back in at a later stage, as Usyk would not be contractual obliged to give him a fight, and would go on to fight Tyson Fury. Also he took the fight as Usyk was at his weakest, fighting a war back in his home country.
@staytrue5307
@staytrue5307 Жыл бұрын
You just contradicted yourself, if he had to take the fight because usyk was obligated to take it then and didn't want to miss his chance then aj didn't take the fight when usyk was at his weakest it just happened that way, the fight was going to take place months ago but was put back so usyk could fight for his country so stopping chatting shite.

@@staytrue5307 Nope, he had the option not to take the rematch. The loser has option to trigger the clause. And he couldn't beat Usyk at his weakest. And Usyk was fighting for his country, but was told that he could go back and fight to represent his nation and bring his people something to rally around.

I'm reading alot of things around Usyk not actually fighting in the war and being allowed to train etc, but his family still must be fighting and potentially dieing in this war. Mentality this guy has is incredibly strong, AJ shouldn't had tried to take the limelight from him, that ultimately was such poor taste..
