I don’t know why anyone is spouting the narrative “United always turn up for this fixture” or “anything can happen in a derby”. This fixture is the one United have received the most severe beatings in post Fergie. Lost count of the amount of 3+ goal margins Liverpool have racked up against them. Derby game logic goes out of the window with this fixture, Liverpool’s high energy and high tempo is a recipe for disaster for a team with low physicality and low energy like United. Especially when low on confidence and playing away from home. You could replay this fixture 10 times between the current squads and Liverpool would rinse them at least 9 times.
