My take on Whites situation was that he didn't actually turn down England when called up. He had a huge row with the coach ,not even the manager, and then wasn't called up for several squads in a row. So to save himself the disappointment of not being called up , again and again, he said "do you know what, don't call me up".

How is White described as soft for walking away? He was chewed out as less professional by the coach in front of/ compared to current first choice and club rival for a place in the england team (Walker). He is rightly offended and choose to walk away - surely the incident smacks of favouritism in opinion of rival and discriminates against him? I'm much older than BW but like most people outside of football, who compete in other walks of life, just brushing off every preconceived insult will only take you so far. If you are professional and falling foul of those types of incident with your employer in the workplace, it usually means you are not seriously considered with any career/promotion prospects within that working environment. There comes a point where you just need to call it a day and leave that environment.

I could care less about coaching staff and whatever happened between Ben White and Steve Holland, the fact of the matter is Walker and Trippier have both been pony at the Euros and should just hang up their boots, that would leave us short at right back and like it or not (depending on the team you support) Ben White has probably based off form been the best English right back last season, so purely on a footballing stand point I would include him in the squad as he can play both right back and centre back. Other nations don't care about disputes they put forward their best squads in order to win the major honours but here in England fans are just way to fickle.

Walker was useless in the euros constantly out of position, TAA can’t defend to save his life either as a RB or cdm. Reece James constantly injured so where is the competition for White at rb? McAntony is just another owner who thinks he knows everything but actually knows nothing. Why would anyone want to play for England when you never win anything? Better for players to focus on club careers and win trophies at club level than waste their time with England.

Maybe he turned England down because he had no interest. I mean this is coming from a guy who openly said and made sure we are all aware that he doesn’t watch football. That very much suggests to me that if he doesn’t watch football, he doesn’t care and only plays for money. He plays for arsenal and does very well, and gets paid.
