Instead of making excuses for Joshua like ring walks and robes (he didnt look any different in his last 3 fights with Ngannu, Wallin, Helenius, ) how about giving Dubois his due as that is the ONLY reason Joshua lost. DDD will KO AJ even faster in a rematch no matter how hard AJ trains, just like AJ will never beat Usyk no matter what he does.
@danieldwyer62024 күн бұрын
Agreed, the media need to move on from the “how did AJ lose narrative” They are taking about AJ’s superior boxing IQ. Dubois has been boxing since he was 7! AJ was 18! I’m pretty sure Dubois has more experience! Just because he doesn’t have senior amateur accolades doesn’t mean the guy is not seasoned. On one hand these guys allude to AJ being a bit of a hype job and on the other can’t fathom how he was being by Dubois. Who is a monster, and imo an awful match up for AJ.

It’s more than that big shot - he came into the ring and had very poor defence from the get go , it’s the worst fight AJ has had for a long time , he just looked slow and very vulnerable , something was very wrong with him and Dubois just capitalised on it , sure that early knockout screwed him further but he was already in the wrong gear with the wrong strategy that night .

The media were fooled like a lot of fans, claiming AJ was "back" because he knocked out an MMA fighter with one pro fight. If you ignore the Ngannou fight, this was just a natural continuation of his boxing career. This is exactly where he was heading. He is no longer the young hungry wrecking machine, and he's now becoming the nail for guys who are. He knows he's got a questionable chin, and when a guy like Dubois fearlessly comes for him the way he did, he just doesn't want that kind of smoke, and unfortunately his corner didn't seem to be tactically smart enough to help him negotiate the threat. It is what it is. For his talent level AJ has had an astonishing career, and all good things come to an end. If I was him I'd let Dubois move on and wait for the Fury/Usyk fight. Assuming Fury loses, let's make that fight at Wembley as one last giant pay day. Do it for the fans and call it a career (probably for them both). There's nothing to be ashamed of for AJ.
@DeanError3 күн бұрын
The getting hit thing for both fights normally referenced are from powerful punches who also are happy with fast complex combinations.
