I thought Parker v Kabayel was the best 2nd tier elite HW fight you could make alongside Zhang v Bakole. As a Parker fan, however, going straight to 1st tier elite and getting his well-earned title shot is great and gives me hope for the stellar matchmaking in the future as well.
@silver292Ай бұрын
Parker's right hand comes at you with pretty insane velocity and Dubois has been hurt multiple times. Hurt by Richard Lartey. Knocked down three times against a very average fighter a couple years ago. Stopped by Joyce. Stopped by Usyk. He's got a no better chin than Parker does. This fight, in my mind, very well might come down to whose defense is better and whose gas tank is better. I'd be VERY interested to see how Dubois would react to a sneaky uppercut as well. Parker has a very neat right uppercut.

Parker is fast and resilient but he isn't invulnerable. If Dubois can withstand Joshua Punches and Hrgivic and Miller Punches who I'd say are in the same punch power range as Parker, then Parker will have problems regardless. Agreed that defence needs to be better going off the Hrgovic fight, but Don said he wanted to work on that. Whether he did or not, we won't know because the Joshua fight didn't end up being competitive enough for us to see if that flaw had been worked on. Either way at this point, Don Charles deserves any credit he gets.

Simon is Not Giving Frank Warren his credit, because he mentions Daniel in the mid rds of the Miller fight looking for some inspiration, then Bit Down on his gum shield and fought on to get the knockout in the last rd but it was Frank who noticed Daniel looking for his Dad, Dave, and told Dave to get up in the corner and let Daniel see and hear you and that was what changed the whole fight around and basically Daniel’s Career because from then on, Dave has always been in Daniel’s Corner, giving him inspiration along with The Great Don Charles! I wasn’t really a big Frank Warren fan but that moment changed things for me, it made me realise, just how much Frank is invested in his Boxers and just how well he knows then! God knows where Daniel’s career would be, if Frank hadn’t noticed the Bond between Daniel and his Dad and just how much Daniel needs him in his Corner? Truly a Great move by Frank and just at the right time and he certainly doesn’t get enough credit for it in my opinion! Big Up Frank! 💯👌👏🫡

very interesting fight Dubois VS Parker. Don keeps on about layers. He was crediting Shane McGuigan previously and the job that Shane had done with Dubois. Now he seems to discredit Shane by saying when he inherited Dubois he was operating around 40% and Don has added layers and Dubois now at 60% ? All confusing to me what Don keeps saying. Shane has mentioned that after Dubois becoming IBF world champion Don phoned Shane to say he was sorry the way it had worked out that Don is now getting the credit that Dubois is champion because if he stayed with Shane there would of been no difference ? Don keeps on contradicting himself . He also mentions that its Dubois's destiny and written that he was going to be world champion so does this mean that if he was to depart from Don and go with another trainer he is still going to be world champion ?

Boxing, win one they praise you to the heavens, lose like this and you are rubbished, There isn't much different about Dubois, Joshua went in there to fight like an amateur, low reflexes, no defenses, its why Dubois crushed him like any professional would crush any amateur. If Parker faces him like he did Zhang, Dubois might not win, he might get exhausted from running around the ring all night long

Think you're slightly underestimating Dubois here my friend. Parker has been excellent for the last 18 months but still, Dubois has shown major improvements. I think timing wise Dubois has improved massively, it all depends on how aggressive Parker comes out. If Parker comes out and tries to put it on Dubois, entirely possible he can walk onto a hook. Either way it's a brilliant fight, exactly what you want from a world title heavyweight matchup.

Parker all day long. I’ll never forget that AJ vs Parker fight and the Italian referee who was clearly corrupt, never allowing Parker to get close to AJ so AJ could keep him at a distance. Any time Parker tried to close the gap, the ref would intervene before there was even a clinch to justify separating them. That was the moment I realised they knew AJ had a weakness and were doing everything to protect it. Of course, they couldn’t protect him outside the UK at Madison Square Garden, where Andy Ruiz Jr. was allowed to box on the inside against AJ and ended up defeating him. In the rematch (in Saudi Arabia), they made sure to eliminate any chance of close exchanges. I’ll never forget that Parker fight and witnessing it all unfold… and then finding nobody on Sky Sports punditry even acknowledging it.
