You can test your pronounciation by talking Korean to your voice assistant. What I do is changing the voice assistant to Korean, spend 10-15minutes asking it stuff (jokes, cooking recipes, songs) and then turn it back to my own language when I'm done studying. This way you have to force yourself to pronounce things right

This is why technology is still stupid 🤣, when you are already procrastinating studying Korean, changing the language of the assistant each time will become a chore after sometime. At least it is for lazy people like me. What bothers me is that our phones listen to us all day and night to push stupid adds and they understand us whatever language we speak to friends and family, yet act dumb when we speak a language that is not the "default" in the assistant, really!!! Smart phone companies should step up their game.

@Fyre P the voice assistant shows you what you have said. Therefore you can see which part of the pronunciation was correct and which part it misunderstood as something else. You can also you voice to text speech, but I like using voice assistant because then I also get listening exercise when it replies

Actually you can set your google assistant to understand more than one language, so if you want to speak in english you just do it and it will get what youre saying, same with korean. From my experience you can set it up to 2 languages

Actually you don't have to change the language. I'm able to speak 2 languages with my assistant because I installed all of them and I just have to say something in it and it switches automatically 🤔 But I usually use the interpreter function ("be my korean intepreter") to check korean sentences meaning and my pronunciation. Really helpful!

Khushi Garg i started learning French and I’m not fluent but because I speak Spanish it’s already 10x easier, honestly duolingo helped me a lot also searching up words and making flash cards really helps and asking Siri or google how to say things in French helps. Oh and bonne chance!

@@khushigarg7408 honestly I feel like French is a difficult language to learn, but I wouldn't say it's "more difficult" than Korean, as the difficulties might not be the same (for example, Korean doesnt have verb conjugation in the way that French does). However, if you apply the advice from this video to French as well, I think you'll be good in no time 😊

Viki has a great tool called learning that gives you both subtitles side by side and also you can click in the word in Korean and it’s going to give you the meaning and stuff. It’s really good!

Thank you for these suggestions. I am a USA college professor who worked with another professor who grew up in South Korea. Through this friendship I have become interested in Korean Culture, including the language. I was trying to learn (unsuccessfully) through a different app, and saw a You Tube video from a 10-year old who spoke about Talk To Me In Korean. I switched right away, and have progressed in my learning so much more. It is a well designed curriculum, website, and support network. I've found looking up lyric translations for Korean songs where the translation is always right underneath the original line pretty helpful! Sometimes I'll even notice what changes the translator made to convey the meaning better in their translation instead of just going word for word. And looking up several different translations of the same song helps a lot too because you get a better, deeper understanding of the meaning of a word or phrase rather than just something to learn by heart.

I just started reading korean short stories and fairy tales for kids and I found it very effective.😄 What I do is to read it with my eyes first then try to read it aloud with the right pronunciation and natural speed. The only disadvantage I had when reading aloud is that my mother and siblings though I was going crazy.😂

I have a Korean friend. We got to know each other over HelloTalk. She was writing german diaries which I corrected for her. I said that I would love to write diaries in Korean but I don't know the words and how to make sentences. But she said I just should try it with the words I know and write the other words in English. And I really improved a lot since I'm doing this. We also reading the diaries and make a voice message and correct each other's pronunciation 🙈 This is really a lot of fun and helps a lot. In this diaries I'm also using 그리고 and 그래서. Most of people here are talking about how they got into Korean learning from bts or kpop, while the thing is completely opposite for me. As i started learning Korean, i came to know about kpop and kdramas, and honestly they help a lot to improvise vocabs. Especially in kdramas, you know how to implement the words in certain situations. One of the observations i made is, they use 네(ne) when they talk to any elder or honourable person, and ㅖ(ye) in casual conversations. I watch Korean ASMR roleplays. The speaking pace is slower and clear which is perfect for a beginner and you can find one that the scenario is relevant to what you're learning. If they ask a question then try to reply, even if you have to pause it.

As soon as I could read hangul I started a notebook where I would write the lyrics of my favorite kpop songs and it was the best choice! At first I chose short songs because it took so much time to write only a sentence XD But after a while thanks to this habit I found myself analyzing the lyrics a lot more and understanding korean sentence structure, and it's also easier to learn vocabulary because it's put in a context. Plus I also think it helped me a lot in improving my writing!

Korean music every day: check Korean films or dramas every day: check (even if only half an hour) TTMIK every day: almost check. I'd say 5 days a week (working on it) KZbin algorithm to have suggestion feed full of Korean learning videos: check 😂 Subvocalize when I'm reading in Korean (which is almost every day too): check. I have been advancing my reading and comprehension skills by reading lyrics while listening to Korean songs! i also found myself searching for articles about stress that foreigners feel living in Korea. Our teachers group has an upcoming conference on acculturation/intercultural experience in Korea. There were some, but surprisingly few, and mostly skewed towards acute mental dysfunction, whereas most expats are functional, but commonly experience different degrees of distress living here.

Thank you for the tips and damn, the French just came out of left field! Impressive. The first time I actually came in contact with Korean people, kpop and kdrama was in France 10 years ago and back then I was busy learning French. I hope that in another 10 years I can say that I understand Korean as well as I do French. :)

These are tips to learn Korean quickly! ^^ ★How to learn Korean fast!★ 1. Listen to the pronunciation of Koreans and read the sentences aloud several times. (It's better to read quickly.) 2. Read the 100 Korean words a day. Don't try to memorize them. Just read along. Just refer to the examples. It's important to do 100 each a day. 3. After watching your favorite Korean video (drama), don't look at the screen and just listen to the sound several times. 4. After studying Korean on KZbin, write comments in Korean. (You have to talk a lot in Korean to improve your Korean language quickly. ^^)

What I've found is listening to my favourite korean songs and reading the korean words along with the song has improved the speed of my reading. Also has made me memorise the lyrics better too 😁 Favourite band is BTOB as they have many ballads so I can keep up 🤣🤣

I already use about half of these... maybe more. The social media one is a definite. I post daily about what I'm learning. I enjoy the responses like compliments about my handwriting or comments about how steady I am in studying. Also, at work I am able to listen to KZbin so I listen to a lot of different Korean content... some instructional like TTMIK and others for fun. This video was definitely a good idea!

okay, this I already use: 1. listening to Korean songs and watching (with Korean subtitals)them. started to learn two of them to sing along with a leadsheet only with hanguel letters 2. watch K-dramas with german sublitles (my mother languages) - and now I'll try to watch movies in German with Korean subtitles 3. using the translattion app to listen to the correct pronaunciation

I already listen to music in Korean and read lyrics when I can and it helps a lot. I have a journal now and I write small sentences and as time goes by, my sentences will extend. I want to start a youtube channel and upload some of my Korean studies so I can see how far I've come and keep improving. Today I will try out reading news articles. Playing games on the phone, speaking the Korean word and replacing the English word for the Korean word helps. Place stickies on some items so you see it everyday and use them. I’m conversations say Nay, Hwaiting , Arassoyo etc helps. The songs with lyrics is a must. Thank you for helping us learn Korean and all the encouragement.

One thing I'm proud of myself for is that I had a day where I wasn't feeling well enough to study my usual ways and wanted to play video games but didn't want to waste the day so I changed the language in the game to Korean which became such immersion! I ended up looking up a bunch of words way more while having relaxed fun. The game shows images to a bunch of items so I associate words with images and a lot of dialogue is text based so quests for example takes such focus to read and understand which is awesome. ^^ I also love finding Korean songs to learn to sing because singing is such a help in pronunciation since it's easier to hear myself make mistakes and adjust them. Third thing I do that wasn't mentioned is that I follow a bunch of accounts on social media that writes their descriptions or posts in Korean and I always read their posts no matter if I understand it yet or not to practice the comfort of reading. I like the news suggestion but currently news feels a little too difficult for me yet so instagram posts etc work well until then. :) It's also been fun watching Korean content without English subs in topics I know super well by heart so my knowledge in what's happening visually can help give clues in what they might be saying and my comprehension really surprises me sometimes! I love these 10 tips, keep them coming if you think of more :)
