This Tagalog course is interesting - gustong gustoko, simple at mahusay. I'm a half Pinoy (galing sa Mom ko) and half Indonesian (galing sa Dadko) but was brought up in English and only returned to Manila for college (dahil naghiwalay ang mga magulangko). During those days I managed to pick up Tagalog from my Mapua classmates but never knew the Tagalog grammar. At home my Mom spoke English & Ilongo dahil ang katotohanan taga Iloilo City kami. Kahibalo man ako maghambal sang Binisaya, bisan diotay lang - hahaha (ang galing ko diba) ? I'm really looking forward to learn informal colloquial Tagalog (yung kahalo ng salintang canto ) because if I learn the formal one, parang suplado ako *LOL* - it just makes me feel awkward to mingle with my future kababayan kung ang plano ko ay magtrabaho sa Malta mangyayari at formal pa ang Tagalogko. I hope I can find more informal/colloquial expressions in this course. Kung hindi maari... saan kaya mahahanpko ng informal conversational Tagalog course ??? Maraming salamat.

Hello, Ismail Ishaq! Kumusta po? I can see that you already have a good grasp of the Filipino language. ❤ I will prepare lessons on informal conversation but colloquial Tagalog or "salitang kanto" is something that you'll pick up along the way. I'm not sure if watching noon time variety shows in Manila is your thing but they will surely help because they usually use informal Tagalog there. As for hanging out with your would-be co-workers in Malta, don't worry about it because I'm sure they will understand your situation. Ita-try ko makagawa ng mga videos na may mga informal phrases pero not now po kasi busy pa ako sa day job ko. Pag uwi ko na lang ng Pinas next year. Salamat po! ❤

@@TalkToMeInTagalog Hi, Ano bang pangalanmo ? Dahil diko makita dito. Thank you for taking your time to deplu to my comments. Nakapagmaintainko ang salitang kantoko sa mga pelikulang Tagalog na pinanoodko paminsan-misan :-). Don't worry, naintindihanko na beasing-beasy ka. Palagayko pagnameetko ang mga Pinoy balang araw, matutuhanko ang salintang kanto in a short time. Maraming salamat.

Hi, Sandy! Since you're looking for a person, the correct way of asking is "Nasaan si Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte?" 😊 and the possible answer would be "Nasa Malacanang Palace si Pangulong Rodrigog Duterte." Salamat po for watching.

Are there other exceptions like the one at 10:00 where 'si' is used with some humans and 'ang' for others. There is "Nasa pelengke SI nanay" yet "Nasa trabaho ANG tatay". Why "Nasa bahay SINA lolo at lola" rather than "Nasa bahay ANG MGA lolo at lola"?

Hello, Brandon! The standard Tagalog markers for people are SI and SINA: SI for a singular person and SINA for 2 or more people. The markers ANG and ANG MGA are generally used for objects but there are native Tagalog speakers who use them for people. While it's okay to use them on people, you'll sound a bit old-fashioned or someone coming from the rural areas if you'll use them when talking to those who grew up in the so-called Greater Manila Area. So, I would suggest that you use SI and SINA. Maraming salamat po watching. 😊🇵🇭
