A masterpiece. Musically, lyrically, and vocally. Goosebump inducing to say the least. Only ABBA can use the word “bewildered” in a song and make it sound absolutely amazing. I can visualize this entire song. ABBA is back!

@jorgec70873 жыл бұрын
As I’m not a native English speaker I wonder why you find it weird that the word “bewildered” is used in the lyrics... is it perhaps an inusual, out-of-date or old-fashion expression?
@Venusbabe663 жыл бұрын
@@jorgec7087 Yes, on all those thoughts. Bewildered hasn't been used in normal every day language probably for over 80 years. I'm guessing Björn probably chose it because he needed a three syllable word to go with the melody and there aren't many words that would be suitable. It fits just right in that spot... be-wil-dered.

The big global news of this 21st century for the music world is the return of the legendary Swedish pop group ABBA to the recording studios after more than 35 years (the last was "The day before you came") and the edition of his new songs after 39 years (the last was "Under attack") and a new album after almost 40 years (the last was "The Visitors") Beyond that these three data are for the Guines Book of records (I believe that No Group or Singer or Artist can come close to these incredible brands), the most remarkable thing is How they returned, with what level of quality And I must say that ABBA overcame all fears, doubts and expectations Their return is shocking and his quality is still valid "Don't shut me down" it's another surprise from ABBA A pop song was expected, but there were reservations and fears for what it could be (and here I include doubts to the voices of the girls due to their age) And we find a magnificent work The beginning is with Agnetha's voice attacking with the pleasant company of the piano. What Agnetha does in that introduction is anthology, exquisite modulating and using different nuances with her mature voice. Until Benny's signature piano glint (nod to the mega hit "Dancing Queen") and ABBA's typical pop song is with us, with the fans, because the lyrics speak to us. and Agnetha assumes that decoding of almost four decades and gives us her beautiful voice as the strings grow and lead to a memorable chorus with Frida reliving the historic third voice of ABBA But it doesn't end there, the second part adds hooks and a xylophone is added to the bells (a nod to the marimba in "Mamma Mía"), and the pre-chorus has more force with Agnetha and Frida and the violins anticipate the elevation to a chorus triumphant final anthology reminiscent of his greatest hits And it ends with a soft and sweet Agnetha voice and piano melody (nod to "Thank you for the music") Thank for your great reaction and for Your respect to ABBA music now we have the new album "Voyage" that is a worldwide succes see in next ABBA vídeo GOD bless You

Even if Agnetha is singing it is Björn who wrote the lyrics. I would say it is a lyric on at least 3 levels. A woman coming surprisingly back to her her old partner after long time is the foundation. But it also works as a comment on Abba themselves coming back with new material after 40 years. And there are lots of references sneaked in about them becoming "Abbatars". Decoded, another me, reloaded, transformation and so on.

Unbelievable. I have been transported back to my carefree teenage years with this one, reminiscent of Dancing Queen I think. Classic ABBA, brilliant musicians in Bjorn and Benny. And the girls or ladies I should say, oh my God those voices especially when they sing together. Wow nobody else like them. The other song is just so full of memories with those clips and photos, I love Fridas voice in the other single, deeper than in the past but with such a warm and almost melancholy tone, wow. I love ABBA I can't not get emotional they are truly a part of the soundtrack of my own life. I am just so happy. The world needs this at the moment to give us all some hope. Thankyou ABBA 💜💙💙💜

Great one, can't wait! 🎊 As for the cover of the album that you mention, they did announce its name with a picture of that sphere with the gold-yellow writing, but we might as well be further surprised when time comes, who knows. :)

Thanks for the ABBA. Pretty much a perfect uptempo ABBA song written just for Agnetha. Benny/Bjorn have always been best at that. Was good to hear Benny say he wasn't competing with the artist of today and that he doesn't know how. So the reunion will be a fun outlet for all of them. And they'll do what they all do best, make ABBA music. Hopefully we'll get an Agnetha balled too "Love her sad voice". I think what really makes me happiest about this is -- both girls really deserve songwriting and production of this calibre devoted just to them.

Benny has said, as you point out, that he doesn't know how to compete with the artists of today. I presume it's the same for Björn. The rest of us are truly blessed that they don't know how to do it! I have a feeling that there are plenty of artists, producers, and music fans out there that will be learning a lot from two guys who can't (or won't) compete with artists of today. As someone who has been involved in music for years, I'm hoping the hullabaloo around ABBA's return will breathe some life into what I see as the pretty stagnant musical era we find ourselves in. We're relying on sounds that haven't moved on for more than a decade.

Suggestion: Watch "ABBA Voyage: The Journey Is About To Begin" (kzbin.info/www/bejne/hXabkoaknd-HnLM) if you haven't already done so. Björn and Benny talks about the album and the music, we get to see the process behind creating the binary twins of the ABBA members using motions capture of the current 70+ members performing the entire concert and using the bleeding edge tech and up to 500 of the best digital artists to turn the motion capture and filmed performance into the way they look in their prime in 1979 in order to create the "tour" in London next year which use an amazing light show and the ABBAtars together with live musicians in the new purpose built ABBA arena which is currently being built. It's just 4:22 long but very fun and fascinating. It's actually refreshing to not hear the same style as every current pop song which almost sounds the same no matter which artist it is. In comparison with current pop, ABBA brings a "new" sound. I read that a majority of listeners to the new songs are actually between 18-25 which is amazing and shows just how ABBA is one of the few bands that was never forgotten and buried in the past. It doesn't matter if you're into pop or not (I'm not into pop but I really appreciate ABBA for the sheer quality of the song writing and the girls vocals, esp. the harmonies which is a trademark for the band and totally unique. ps. I just noticed the Rory Gallagher book on your shelf and I'm a huge fan of his. He was definitely one of the best and most passionate guitarist of his time. He didn't care about fame and money (hence the breakup of Taste after the Isle of Wight performance just as they were offered a major contract that would've made them the biggest power trio around with Cream breaking up, The Who's waning following and Jimi Hendrix unfortunate and untimely death). As a solo artist for the rest of his career he didn't budge on the demands to write hit singles etc., he just wanted to write and play his music with whatever stringed instrument he had mastered. I still get goose bumps when I watch the Irish Tour '74 film. (pps. obviously you know all that Ross, I'm mainly promoting him and his music to anyone else who doesn't know about him and his music).
