A construction plans for Mombasa Road from Mombasa to Nairobi was approved a few days ago. I do know how many times it has been approved but at least there is hope now.

Thika Road still is a good road in East and Central Africa

The speed cap on many locations on Thika Road is about 110. I don't know if it applies to PSV's as well
