Straddling bikes with tall seat heights can be challenging if you do utilize this simple technique. Simply shift your stance over to one side of the seat, resting one thigh on the seat which allows you to send flat-footed with one foot. This allows you way more stability. It allows you to maintain rear brake pressure while keeping a solid stance while stopping. This is especially important while stopping on loose gravel or other slippery surfaces. Also please excuse my misstatements; I don’t have a 72-inch inseam and my saddle height isn’t 74 inches. I got that number stuck in my head and kept repeating it.
