Lyrics: www.earache.co...
“'The Generation Of Danger' is a concept album about a genius scientist who gets fed up with being swept under the rug. After the multi-billion-dollar corporation that employs him takes credit for his latest, award-winning invention, he snaps and retaliates against them by forcing them to take part in the greatest experiment the world of science has ever seen.”
Tallah's cruelly ferocious new album 'The Generation Of Danger', due for release on 18 November 2022 via Earache Records and recorded once more with producer Josh Schroeder at Random Awesome Studio, will only serve to extend their fascinatingly dark nu-core metal further into the metal community, continuing to build the beast Tallah have created and set loose.
Max Portnoy says of the new album: “'The Generation Of Danger' is a new era for Tallah’s music. We’ve gotten overall heavier with this album, while tapping into elements that we’ve never experimented with before. There’s a lot of new sounds and songwriting here to showcase what else we can do without sacrificing the heaviness or core sound that we established with 'Matriphagy'.”
Justin continues: “'The Generation Of Danger' is a completely new and fresh concept for us, both lyrically and instrumentally. We wanted to take what made 'Matriphagy' so good and jack it up to 150%. The tracks are monstrous, daunting, and the story the music tells dives into the idea of people hiding what they truly desire until someone else comes along and forces it to surface."
With 'The Generation Of Danger', Tallah have opened up the doors to a highly detailed dystopian world for fans to explore and piece together. The first single and video taken from the album, “Telescope”, serves as the stepping-off point into this world - fans are highly encouraged to pay attention to every detail.
As with 'Matriphagy', 'The Generation Of Danger' offers fans more than just an album of pioneering nu-core metal. Whilst it will most certainly be lauded for Justin's acclaimed aptitude for embodying numerous characters and emotions in his outstanding vocal shape-shifting, celebrated for its breathtakingly turbulent dynamics and exemplified for the way it melds the ever-blossoming ingenuity of Tallah's intrepid musicians, 'The Generation Of Danger' will reward those who delve deeper into the album and its supplementary content.

I've listened to nothing but Justin's projects since I first discovered Tallah at the beginning of the year some time in February(I know, bit late for the party but better late than never!) Picked up Matriphagy on CD out of pure curiosity after seeing it pop up a few times on ebay... something about that album cover told me I wouldn't regret it and now it's easily the best 6.69 I've spent on an album in years and the obsession is only growing bigger 😂

There is next to no one other than Justin out there able to make these sounds. I think I've heard the dudes from baribusa and to the grave hit this or similar tones. A fair bit of it is aftereffects but from my understanding it's a way of screaming that brings out super high frequency over tones (similar to pig squeals but placed different in the mouth/vocal tract)

Great work guys. Justin’s melodies here are unpredictable but comfortable by the end of the song. Max did an amazing job keeping the beat interesting with his typical flair. Riffs were super groovy and unique, overall, but what makes them special is the hints of callbacks to earlier riffs we’ve heard in other singles. It’s like in certain sections they’re referencing previous musical themes, and I’m all for it! Opening riff is VERY good. Couldn’t keep from dancing, no matter how difficult the rhythm was to move to at first. The clean section was beautiful; holding on that key rather than changing it sooner was a great and interesting choice. Plus, Mew’s scratching right after that was just phenomenal. If the whole album is like everything you all have put out so far, paying for that huge bundle way earlier in the year will have been well worth it. Love you guys, can’t wait for the album. Wish I could see the Atilla tour! Good luck. :)

Tallah, this is amazing. I’ve commented many times on your guys’ videos and it’s because you just don’t stop raising the bar and amazing us with this music. For a while I was losing hope in newer metal bands, until I discovered you. Heaviness, Originality, Creativity, Melody, and the most amazing and terrifying scream I have ever heard. Furthermore, I actually went through a break up today (Sept. 1st) and it has not been going well so far. But then I saw this was posted, and I could not have been happier. The lyrics felt relatable to what my situation was/is with my ex and the heaviness was all the anger and sadness that I needed to listen to to help lighten this load on me. Max is on another level right now. I've been a massive fan of his father (I've spent months pissing off the neighbors learning his stuff and screaming "FUCK YOU MIKE PORTNOY YOU GODDAMN GENIUS!!!") for decades. He's an icon in the world of percussion. You would be hard pressed to find a metal drummer worth his salt who hasn't stolen his fills somewhere along the line. All that being said, what Max is doing is just as impressive. Aside from Eloy Casagrande (Sepultura) I think you would have a hard time finding someone as innovative and hard hitting as Max Portnoy. Every shot is with purpose and feeling, no matter how fast He's playing. It's damn near impossible to put as much as He does in song without it being all filler, no killer but He does it. That takes more than just talent, that takes an intelligence that you don't see often. It won't be long and drummers will be cussing him out because they've spent months trying to play his music and can't do it because " THAT SHIT'S NOT EVEN POSSIBLE!!! WTF??!!!"

When making a mistake I try not to get so mad about it and instead think "relax, this serves as a lesson, remember it next time you face a similar situation and act different". Anyway you guys are beautiful!! Been obsessed with this band since the very first day I found out about them ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

This is my first Tallah song. Gives me some: Slipknot/Korn/Linkin Park with some Whitechapel lows type of vibes. I’ve been following Justin on KZbin for awhile now. Good stuff!!! 🤘🏻

That scream @3:39 is so satisfying! This is my first time hearing them! They give me the exact same feeling when I first heard Mindless Self Indulgence/Slipknot/System of a Down. All those bands sounded so weird to me at first until I got used to them. 🤘🏾
