I haven't been to Helen yet, but someday I will get there. I'm only a few hours away, in TN. In May, I stayed at COE campground, Old Federal, on Lake Lanier. My all time favorite campground so far! I loved lounging in my tiny camper's bed, and watching the boats go by, through my window. Gorgeous.

@@lifererouted I appreciate your interest in our quaint little hamlet. We are unique. We are a incorporated town. Our own water system police and fire department. A Mayor and town council. We only have 168 residents according to the latest census report. The Tallulah Falls school actually has more students than we have residents. It's a very interesting place.

That looks so awesome. We definitely need to go there soon. We go to north GA all the time, Hiawassee, where stay at a great campground. But Helen is a great little town also. Went there recently and had lunch at this place right over the bridge on the river. Good good food. Haha. But definitely gotta go check the gorge out. Thanks for sharing!

There is a trail that connects the campground to the other side of the park (there's another smaller side on the other side of the road.) It's all paved, and I think you could take the trail over to the other side and see the water at the top of the dam. gastateparks.org/TallulahGorge/Trails Here's a trail map if you're interested.
