I run a genuine 655.7bhp at the wheels but I turned it down to around 480bhp and it's still a handful at times. Quicker than my neighbours Porsche 993 turbo and his built 2.6 vtec prelude turbo with 500bhp and I beat his 1/4m sprint by 1.7s and 26mph...in 400 metres! Also stops in half the time too. I have always found Honda's heavy for what they are. The 2002 civic type r is so much heavier than the one it replaced I don't understand that. The jdm model before 2000 is the pick of the lot and the same goes for the NSX too

Other day we were thinking about the money I've put into my Lexus IS300 2JZ GTE single turbo. It's been through a few different setups leading to the present spec. Running less power outright but the chassis is pretty much the best possible result from the potential and it's the brakes that make it so quick at any event. Regularly beating ex DTM Mercedes and bmw at hillclimbs. Just the superbike engined sports prototypes like the radical etc that I can't keep up with. They are running 4 to 500bhp and 600 to 750kg so the power to weight ratio is off the chart by comparison to modified production cars like mine

They generally are build tougher and can hold more power and be shifted without letting go of gas. Like all the dragsters or majority of cars that run sub 9's. Also, they are cheap compared to something like a PDK transmission.
