A re-telling of the traditional folk tale Tam Lyn. Part of a project executively produced by Peter Gabriel called The Imagined Village.

I love The Imagined Village - great concept! It's a pity there's been nothing since the first 3 albums. I live in hope!! Much though I also love Peter Gabriel, apart from it being on his label, he was not involved - perhaps the poster was confusing this with the Big Blue Ball project.

The Imagined Village has nothing to do with Peter Gabriel, other than being on his label. It's a bunch of English folk musicians and world musicians. People like Chris Wood, Eliza McCarthy, Sheila Chandra and others. Gabriel isn't part of it.

In that case, incorporating Saxon and Jute ways into the language of the Brythonic Celts was wrong. I think you know how that whole argument goes...what Benjamin Z has done here is brilliant.

What is the story of Tam Lin? This Halloween-set medieval Scottish ballad is incredibly pro ... “Tam Lin” is about a woman taking charge of her body and her fate. In its most basic form, “Tam Lin” tells the story of a girl named Janet whose lover is a fairy knight named Tam Lin. Janet finds that she is pregnant, so on Halloween she hikes up her skirt and heads out to pick some herbs that will induce an abortion
