Acapella song about Russian civil war composed by Nikolay Koll and Alexander Alexandrov in 1924. It was favourite Red Army marching song for soldiers before and sometimes after WW2, as well as for many civilians. The song appeared in How the Steel Was Tempered movie with best performance. However, the text lacks important line which made song so truly folk in its nature - an old russian song motive of fallen rider asking his horse to send news of his death. So the missing lines are:
He fell down to the hoofs
Of his solid black horse
Having closed his brown eyes for the last time.
«You my warhorse tonight
Tell my friends I have died
For the workers with honor in that fight»
