I received mine in spring of '24 and couldn't be happier. My benchmark for sound is my '86 Sonor Lites (which I've had since, yes, '86). The Tamas are a welcome contrast to the Lites. I use (them) with our 10-piece horn dance band and have gotten extremely positive feedback from the sound engineers because of the tight, focused, and punchy sound that doesn't get in the way of the other instrumentations. I have blue clear Emperors on top and bottom (aesthetically they complement the band name Blue Velvet Groove) so I suspect head choice is the reason.

I received mine the other day, after much anticipation. The snare drum shell cracked right in half within two days, for no real reason. The two floor Toms had scuffs inside the shells. The 12 inch drum had fogging and finger marks on the inside. I was thoroughly disappointed with the integrity and build quality of this product since unboxing it. I hope that you and Sweetwater work together to make this right, as I have been a lifelong Tama fan.

To be honest, I'm a little disappointed in this Limited Starclassic Mirage. I really expected more since it was TAMA's 50th anniversary. This kit is identical to the Silverstar Mirage launched in 2015, the only thing they changed was the suspension system and the Die-Cast Hoops. Even the drum sizes are the same. Personally, I see the Starclassic Mirage released in 2007 a better drum set, it has all the hardware features of a genuine Starclassic

They are essentially the starclassic performer series with a acrylic shells. Total gimmick. Should have 10 lug kick. Updated quick lock tom and floor tom brackets. Ship with USA made heads.

I had watched a video about the history of Tama drums a while ago, with everyone in the video pronouncing it properly, and quite a few people in the comments were surprised by that pronunciation and had always thought you said it like this narrator 😅

I live in the US (Texas) That's not a twang. He either doesn't know how to pronounce TAMA or is from NZ/AUS or some other limey country😛. Oh yeah, could be North Carolina too... hmm. Anyway Not Taama, Tarma !

Looks absolutely amazing, but the ridiculous snare sound ruined the presentation. Shoud've tuned it better and focused more on the toms, that are the stars of these drums.

NO !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! THIS IS BAD ! WOODEN ONE IS A THOUSAND TIMES BETTER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! LEAVE ONLY THE CASTHUP RIM AND RIM SUSPENSION - AND THROW OUT THE REST! AND REPLACE THE RIM AND RIM SUSPENSION TO WOODEN !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WHY DON'T YOU DO THIS??? WHY IS EVERYTHING BAD ON WOODEN???
