16:30 Potaka talks about opportunities for Iwi participation etc. The systems and mechanisms established under the last Labour government were not Labour initiatives. They were Māori-driven initiatives over the past two + decades because successive government policies have failed. They were co-participation and partnership arrangements. This government has completely undermined those efforts and resources and set us right back. We need long term, bipartisan support, not reviews every election that stunt progress.

The big 'missing' from this interview is what Potaka believes about the Treaty e.g. did Maori cede sovereignty or not? Is the Littlewood draft the final English draft of the Treaty or not? If not, why not? What's his definition of kawanatanga? tino rangatiratanga? Taonga? Why is the waitangi tribunal not using the Maori version of the Treaty as it's authority? An so on. Big question not asked and therefore not answered.

Mainstream media has moved to American format, more about opinion of the person giving the information rather than decent journalism. I do find a lot of the news depressing. So I seek out specific shows, Q&A, BHN and shows like yours on KZbin. I don’t mistrust media but think they are serving their sponsors more than the NZ public. If you look at the news 20-30 years ago to now it’s day and night with the way it is delivered. I stopped watching breakfast news probably 10 years ago because if the drivel it became. I have Stuff notifications on my phone so if somethings important I will hear about it. I do want to stay informed.
