How lovely! I was fortunate enough to see her doing it in person in Havana, Cuba circa 1954 in her Latin American tour.

Forgive me in advance. All though I am uncultured in Ballet. I enjoy all physical abilities in human beings. I learned by a few articles that this dear lady born in a railroad boxcar to being one of the most talented ballet dancers in history. If this girl would have ever fought in cage fighting, I'm sure she would have kicked some toe. Beautiful dancer.

@Qbendanny This ending is so right - thank you for this important information! Beautiful, beautiful swan - queen of birds with soft, beseeching arms in the face of the coldness of death.

Could this possibly be from the film, "Tonight We Sing," where Toumanova played the role of Pavlov? And I remember reading somewhere that Mikhail Fokine personally taught this role to Toumanova, so it is accurate to the original.

The best I have seen. Emotional but not over the top-lovely. Beautiful tutu rather, like Pavlova, but awful headdress rather like a dish towel.

Is this from Torn Curtain?

Dying Swan has nothing to do with Swan Lake, it's a short, detached ballet to music of St Saens, not Tchaikovsky
