I wish I had your energy and stamina. I could do a day like that, but the recovery period would be 2 weeks. If you quarter sawed your boards you would have little trouble with cupping. With the grain all on one side of the tree you would have good boards at the expense of extra work and narrower boards. At least you won’t have to forge your own nails unless you plan to use Japanese nailless joinery 🙂 Another fine video from the North Woods.

The bugs, the bugs! That was an unpleasant experience. Even a video recording of the buzz of mosquitoes goes directly to the nervous system and elicits a flee response. Neighbor said he had them in a box for a day with a 100 watt light bulb and a water jar for moisture. I don't know if they will hatch but we are trying. Around the 17 or 18th of july would be the hatching time? I'm filming it for a video short out later in the month.
