@ramandu Action 4 is a great all rounder (I still love mine), but you’ll get better low light footage with the Pocket 3. Hohem iSteady Pro 4 is a great action camera gimbal.

I have both. Totally different cameras for different use. And action cam IS always upscaled not native 4k like Pocket series. P3 has 3.2 Pixel size thats mega huge.

I love that you told us which clips were shot on the Osmo because I was able to get a clear vision of what my clips would look like if I were to buy one. Most creators use a $2k camera for their B-Roll and not the actual Osmo when they are filming their review for it; which makes it seem like the quality isn't even good enough to be in their video and I can't grasp how good the quality actually is.

This is the craziest feature heavy pocket camera I've ever seen. Having the ability to color grade means you can even shoot film quality video. It's like a beefed up gopro without the weather proof abilities. It's so crisp and clear, even in low light. With the 1 inch sensor it completely blows every other camera from Canon or Sony out of the water. It will be interesting to see their product responses.

There is not much difference. Action 4 uses higher 12MP to shoot video. This pocket 3 uses 5MP. Video quality is bad in pocket 3

Action always use upscaling. It is never native 4k image. Pocket series use native 4k sensor read out and P3 pixel size is huge. 300% bigger than P2 and a lot bigger than OA4. OA4 has aperture 2.8 and Pocket much better 2.0 with 1 inch native size. I have both of them.

I have the Pocket 2 and Osmo Action 3. I'll look into buying the Pocket 3 and upgrading to the Action 4 in December as I def want to capture more low light videos. The Action 4 has a larger sensor than the 3 which struggles in low light but is waterproof. The Pocket 3 is going to be just as epic as the Pocket 2, but you see the power of a larger sensor. I'm a NZ KZbinr that does 4k walk videos. Sure it'll put a dent in my bank account, but your audience appreciates you creating and sharing footage, and yes, DJI knows we want to share quality content in low light. And it'll be good to try for when we go take a 2 week holiday break in Sydney at the end of this year.

Finally, it's here! But it's a little too good for my needs. I would be pretty much happy with what the Pocket 2 has to offer. The only reason I didn't buy one was the lack of 10bit video. All the new features are welcome, including the larger sensor, but I simply can't justify the pricing for my needs. Now that Android phones can record RAW video, thanks to Motioncam, I think I'll spend ~$100 on a smartphone gimbal and be happy with it. I mostly shoot videos of my friends and family, and like to have a little more flexibility in post because I love the process of color grading. I am not a professional, and I don't vlog either.

Outstanding review. Just bought one. I'm still on the fence on using ND/CPL filters with this, it seems a bit of a hassle. Not sure if it's worth it. I am very sure DJI will come up with a waterproof case which they did it for PK2. For those who wants compact without breaking your bank account, I think this is a great on the go pocket camera which are meant for normal consumers. It's actually quite user friendly which easy to navigate. Great for vacation when you don't wish to carry bulky cameras. It's a deal breaker for sure - 1 inch sensor, 3 axis gimbal (way more stable than iPhone 14 / 15 and OSMO AC4 digital stabiliser) with fantastic wireless mic which you can still capture your voice standing 20-30m away in a straight line unobstructed. I think DJI blew away the rest of the competitors for now. I think no company comes close to the new Pocket 3 at the moment.

I do a lot of gardening video and the HLG quality, which I've never heard of before, looks amazing. I will be buying one when pay day comes around and use your link. Does the mic which comes with it have a jack port? Am thinking that way I could also use my DJI Mic set up and plug the transmitter from that into the Pocket 3 mic.Your dealbreaker - I've used Pocket 2 for YEARS but a few weeks ago I went out and it started raining, only light rain but I've had trouble ever since with the controls to move the camera down hence why I'm looking to upgrade. This is exactly what I'm looking for. Love the review! I like the bit of separation between you and the background. Honestly better than I have seen on any other small camera. That accessory clip it comes with where you can attach it to a clip on the backpack looks very useful.

For a 3.5mm mic you can use a usbc to 3.5mm adapter just make sure your 3.5mm cable is trs to trrs like what you would use on a smart phone.

Pocket 3 looks like a major improvement over the Pocket 2. Got my pocket 2 earlier this year and while I love the video quality, the UX/I has been so bad that I use it only as a backup. The default selfie mode when powering on and the 3x button push to rotate camera, and not rotating because you have to click 3x at a very specific speed or else the setting changes from video to camera. I've lost so many opportunities for video footage bc the 3x click switched it to photo mode. Frustrating to say the least to find I had been in photo mode the whole trip when it's time to import media to my computer.

Just turn on your Pocket by pressing the button next to recording and it starts with the lens straight ahead 😉
