Oh yes! Adding a little hot peppers sounds great! Especially since you used the brown sugar. :))

Opal Preston Shirley to me they taste like a mix of tomato and mango ... it's one of my favorite fruit because it's so versatile. Depending on how you use it, you can add it to a fruit salad, make smoothies from it, or turn it into salsa, add it to cerviche... etc

Tamarillos taste like passion fruit, papaya, melon and tomatoes. I'd recommend one of those Cancún style salsas maybe

What about the seeds? Do they soften when they’re in the boiling water?

Wow. I'd like to try tamarillos! Would adding a little chopped cilantro clash with the flavor or would that work too? :D

Cilantro always works for me! I'd say they would go great in there.

***** What is the salsa like without the sugar added to it? The reason I ask this is because I'm I've lowered my intake on sugars for over the past year to a really low amount, so I don't want to add sugar to it. Salt is fine but just not the sugar.

Thank you for the inspiration - although I changed it a lot: 1 Tamarillo, 3 tomatos, 1 red onion, lime juice, allspice, salt, pepper, 1 tablespoon of brown sugar, 1 spoon of olive oil, 1 spoon of red wine vinegar, one crushed green chili, 1 crushed garlic toe ... I just had it with grilled prawns. It would also go well with steak, pork or grilled chicken

Can we add just tomato instead of that fruit

Use the back side of your knife is you want to use it for that.

don't drag your food off the cutting board with the cutting edge of you knife, it takes away from the edge. ;)

haha yeah that annoyed me somewhat too. same when I see people cutting on stone or ceramic boards/plates. So many people must never of thought of the science of edge tools.
