Tama has a lot of weird stuff in her Nintendo 64 collection in 2020. Of course there's plenty of Pokémon like Pokemon Stadium, but why does she have a Blockbuster Video copy of South Park Rally? What's with that bizarre Nintendo 64 Gameshark that barely works? Find out all that and more in this video!

Tamashii, I just wanna say thank you for your channel being a part of my childhood. I remember watching your videos throughout elementary (since 2013?). I was really into pokémon and enjoyed channels like yours, protomario, jwittz, and many more. Eventually through high school I stopped paying attention to pokémon which I miss and am now slowly getting back into. Just wanted to say that now i’m all grown up and graduated HS this year :) i’m glad your channel has grown so much

2:39 by modding your N64 to accept Japanese carts also allows you to use PAL carts as they're the same shape. It seems that America got the design of the casing altered! Not only that, but from the more I watch of these videos, I'm seeing more differences that the US have for games in general compared to Japan & Europe
@AndresLionheart
@AndresLionheart 3 жыл бұрын
Are you sure that's the case? Japanese games are known as NTSC-J and american games as NTSC-U. They are both NTSC. In the case of european games those are PAL. I once tried Pal version of DK64 and Mario Party and neither worked on my american N64.
@marksmithwas12
@marksmithwas12 3 жыл бұрын
@@AndresLionheart I'm not 100% sure, but I'd imagine either there'd be no video output or the video output would be cropped from 625 lines to 525 lines (depending on the TV used). There's also a possibility the colour may be greyscale and also a chance there won't be any audio? I'm tempted to send Tama my spare copy of Super Mario 64 to see what happens, lol
@youretheslow4237

The N64s such a time capsule in a lot of ways, every time you play puts you right back there in the late 90s/early 2000s no matter how much time passes - suddenly you feel like that kid again, be that playing some now incredibly dated multiplayer games with friends just like when you were growing up, or beating some hard challenge you stayed up all night trying to pull off, or you're trying to talk to your favorite pokemon and the lad just WON'T LISTEN PIKACHU PLEASE. I don't think there's really any other console that pulls that off so well.

Yes, the video I've been waiting for!! I am not disappointed here! I enjoyed knowing the stories behind some of those games. Yoshi's Story is actually pretty close to my heart & it's a little saddening hearing that not a lot of people seem to have played it. Also, Hey You Pikachu is a special game to me, I loved seeing it get attention here. I still go back to that one from time to time for its novelty. This console was the subject of my first customisation, I painted one of my controllers a colour-shifting blue/purple, and recently, a red/blue transfer pak. Opening up & cleaning out your transfer paks is probably a good idea if you've never done so already. Really helps reduce errors! OH, and to save space storing your carts, maybe you can snag a game drawer on ebay. They exist, I have one from the 90s. It's black with the N64 logo, stores a decent amount of games.

If you plan to expand your N64 Collection, put this title on the list: Jet Force Gemini The Rareware title that got caught in the middle of the war of dominance for so many other games during it's 1999 release. It ultimately never caught on to a sequel since it came out relatively close to the 64's end of lifespan. It's Rare's most obscure game made in that era and it's awesome, not to mention that during development Rare was actually straining the N64's graphic limits to make it look so great. Genre(s): Third Person Shooter, Platformer, Collect Everything to beat the Final Boss
