hey Paul...glad to have you back. I thought about cracking open one of my Tamdhu tonight (I have the 15 yr and the cask) but instead went with the Glenkinchie 12. Man that Glenkinchie is so good. Tomorrow night however, one of the Tamdhu is getting opened. I just had to go check with cask I have and its batch 4 as well. Maybe, it'll be the 15 vs the cask. As always, great video man.

Thanks Hundy! ….. really enjoying this batch 4 …. I need to get my hands on the 12 and 15 I have a hunch they are also great … love to hear your thoughts on the 15 when you crack it. Glenkinchie …. Hmmm …. Add another to the list … lol… cheers bud!

I just picked up a bottle of the Tamdhu Batch 4 its a good drop and its cliché but its incredibly smooth and has no sharp edges. It doesn't need water its a dangerous drop. Great review mate

Thanks Dan .... appreciate it! .... You are right it is far too easy to drink without water .. lol ... I am glad I finally got around to the Tamdhu brand, so far I am really enjoying it. Cheers!

I wanted a bottle of A'Bunadh to experience a highly recommended "sherry bomb" but the only place I can find it is on Amazon for almost £100 a bottle and honestly I don't trust buying Whisky through Amazon. I bought a bottle of Aberlour 12 and it was "ok" but didn't do much for me. Tamdhu batch 07 was a lot easier to find, cheaper (£75) and I just poured my first dram. Wow. I know it's probably a cliche but as someone who is still fairly new to Whisky I would not have expected an almost 60%ABV spirit to go down so smooth. Will definitely pick up another bottle or 2 next pay day. 😆

I’m glad you enjoyed it Christopher! …. It really surprised me and I’m glad I took a chance on it. I am also surprised on how easy some of these are going down too … especially the heavily sherried high ABV bottles… appreciate your comment … cheers!

What a GEM of a video ! . . . these high-abv-proof sherried drams always overwhelm my nose; only after 2-3 hours of sitting, would I be able to tell the differences. - - - would LOVE to see a h2h Macallan Classic Cut (50-51% + = 100-102proof+). thx

Thanks Timothy! …… Unfortunately I don’t have a bottle of the classic cut (got my eye out) …. I did have a couple other sherried BS strengthen bottles I am going to add to the H2H… stay tuned :-) … cheers!

I just bought the batch 4 at woodmans in rockford for $88.99 , there was only 2. I'am going to compare it to the glenallache 10 cask strength. they are both 57.8 so should be a good comparison

Nice! .... I'm jealous Scott .... I have been trying to get my hands on the Glenallachie 10 Cask Strength for a while but no luck. Would love to hear your thoughts on the comparison. Cheers!

@@happyhourwhiskey Binny's in rockford, Ill had a case of glenallache believe it or not, I tried a small dram of both and loved them both but imho I liked the glenallache just a smidge better . you might want to try the binny's in algonquin. cheers

Binny's website shows a couple available in Highland Park (north of me) ... problem is their site sucks for stock accuracy. I might give them a call before making the journey ... Thanks for the heads up Scott and glad you are enjoying them both ... Cheers!

Do I see A'Bunadh Alba on the top shelf on the left? Why, oh why, didn't you compare Alba vs regular A'Bunadh? :( Shame... shame... ;) Before you 'throw away' the Aberlours, try the Casg Annamh out, it's really good. And you have a typo in the title and description (again) ;P Cheers!

LOL ... thanks for catching the spelling mistake (again) that's what happens you spell it wrong once and then copy and paste ... Yup, that's Alba, great cask strength ex-bourbon ...really enjoy it. I was going for more similar here than different. It certainly deserves a review on it's own I think .... love to hear yours! ..... I have had several bottles of Casg Annamh it is really good. I actually just finished the last one off last weekend. I think I might like it a little more than abunadh?? ... I assure you nothing is getting thrown away here ...lol ... Cheers KalibanPL!

I thought Tamdhu was Indian whisky as well, I think it means younger brother in one of the languages
@happyhourwhiskey2 жыл бұрын
Lol …. It might??? … like I said in the video I thought it was for years too. Alas it’s 125 year old speyside distillery. And it’s very nice. Cheers!

@@happyhourwhiskey just looked it up it is spelt Tammudu in one of the South Indian languages called Telugu and it means younger brother. Thanks for the great comparison review, love the channel.

I liked the A'Bunadh until I tried a few more batch strength releases. Right now, it's probably my least favorite out of all of them

Funny you say that Haram …. I was saying the same thing to a friend the other day …. I have had 4 or 5 other batch strength bottles of similar profile the last few months and I think I would put all of them ahead, maybe because they are newer/exciting to me? …. Either way we are spoiled for options. Cheers!
