I'm homeless as of a few weeks ago, due to a suicide attempt and the fallout that's happened in my life since. This song is straight up making me weep. Because I'm still here. Strictly speaking, I'm still on track. I guess I really needed to hear this today. Please keep rocking, Kevin. Edit: I'm back living with my folks again so I'm safe, at least. Thanks for the well wishing, KZbin friends. Edit 2: a little over a year later and I'm right on track. Decent job, place of my own even if it's a bit dumpy. No joke, all the well wishing from this comment helped me a lot and I owe youtube comments section a debt of gratitude.

@@TStormGuy There was an accoustic version of On Track with just Kevin on the guitar and with no vocal processing whatsoever, and he was perfect. I think people mistake effects like chorus and reverb for pitch correction and as soon as an artist like Kevin gives a good performance people are quick to cry out pitch correction. He's just a good singer and he's said he's been getting vocal coaching in the past few years after realising it wouldn't effect the style of his voice.

Even without effects, go back and listen to live versions of Lonerism. He used to place the vowels for his high notes in his nose, which is very common and makes hitting G’s and up a lot easier, but has a very “tinny” and nasally sound. Kevin’s got that shit completely locked in his chest now and it sounds noticeably better.

I remember listening to the Slow Rush on Valentine's when it was released, on my noise cancelling headphones just staring at the ceiling playing through the full track list. What an amazing piece of artistry. As the pandemic got worse, and I discovered each song was attributed to a certain month of the year (January 2020, February...December 2020 etc.) I began to listen to each month's song with much closer attention. On Track represents July 2020. I remember feeling hopeless, so tired of everything being shutdown, but this song brought me a little bit of hope. Like, at least I'm still On Track - despite it all. ♥ "The hardest part is over...so glad you're coming over...the world ain't waiting for you....we're just a little older, the rest comes easy..."

It's so hard trying to carve out your own life... I've been struggling with this lately. Just feeling a little lonely and a bit unaccomplished. It's a weird thing, but it's so nice to hear that idea in song form. There are many bumps and hurdles on the path to your version of success, but regardless of the many obstacles, it's important to remember we are still on that path; still on track. Tame Impala is the reason i haven't gone crazy because of this world circumstance in which it feels like we only go backwards. I don't watch the news anymore cause the less I know the better, I'm scared that nothing that has happened so far has been anything we could control. It distress me but I pretend I don't really mind. I'm tired of having apocalypse dreams, I'm on the borderline. Sometimes I get lost in yesterday remembering my past life and I lose my lucidity, then I realize it's been one more hour and maybe it will become one more year. I was wrong when I said solitude is bliss, now I feel alone and I miss everyone, Why won't they talk to me? When I drink a half full glass of wine and I listen to his songs I feel patience and I feel sun's coming up, then is when I think eventually, the moment I have been waiting for will come. I just breathe deeper and think "it might be time to let it happen". I like to think that yes, I'm changing, but then my alter ego tells me "Keep on lying to yourself, your gonna be a new person, same old mistakes" and it descourages me. Maybe my expectation won't become true, maybe it is not meant to be.

Not sure what it is about Tame Impala (Kevin Parker) songs, but lyrics aside, it raises me to a higher frequency and a happy place.

Hearing this song live is really something else. Kevin isn’t the best singer but no one could sound better than him on his tracks.

This song got me through 2020. Laid off from my dream job, ended up in the hospital, no hope of getting back to my career in the near future. Now I’m healthy and doing what I love again. Couldn’t have pulled myself out of this hole without this song motivating me to get up everyday and fight for what I want

listened to this album on shrooms the day of its release date. the trip was a beauty beyond what my mind understood back then. i've been through so much ever since then & the only thing keeping me from going ape shit is kevin parker and his music. i go to this song to remind myself not to stress it too much. i'm still young, i gotta take it easy. i'm still on track

I love this song so much. Whenever I feel overwhelmed with school, work, family, or friends I just think to myself, "Well strictly speaking, I'm still on track. I'm still alive and breathing." This song really grounds you to reality and count your blessings. Thank you for this song.
