Total number of attempts tat can be made in JEE MAINS is six times and the attempts will be counted once u pass out 12 and in India JEE MAINS examination is conducted twice every year.........Likewise for JEE ADVANCE only 2 attempts can be made and those attempts will be counted after u pass out 12 whether u seat for the examination or not.......And to get a degree at MIT it takes 4 yrs [correct me if i m wrong] which means by the time u get a degree at MIT u wont be eligible to seat for the exam.......And like @kushagra9781 said ur comment doesnt make sense at all......

As a recent chemistry graduate from the University of Waterloo, the questions in the Chemistry Section of this JEE are things I can answer now... AFTER studying chemistry for the past 5 YEARS... there's no way I would have been able to accurately identify the concept(s) each of those questions was looking to address going into my University studies (let alone answer the questions correctly). I find it interesting that in India, high school students are required to know this level of knowledge going into Engineering, especially if you consider that after studying for this exam, they may never use half of their accumulated chemistry knowledge, depending on what kind of Engineering they want to pursue. Wild... NOTE: In my degree, I focused on Physical & Organic Chemistry, Chemical Synthesis, and Polymer Science (with some practical experience in Inorganic Synthesis and Transition Metal Chemistry); I am currently pursuing a Master's in Mechanical & Mechatronics Engineering focusing on Materials Engineering and Processing. I think it's fair to say that as a high school student, these questions would have been brutal...

Brooo trust me I fucking hate out chemistry syllabus largely because of this. The questions you see here just show the broad range of the syllabus but you would also be surprised to know the amount of information and depth we get into in each of these topics. Like for oragnic we have like have to remember like 1000+ reactions or something in total across all the organic topics but only to end up answering 2 or 3 reaction based questions. We have to mug up tons of exceptions of the periodic table and their orders which is something I personally forget the day next to when i studied it. And all of this for pretty much never touching chemistry again.

The only reason it is difficult is because of our student population. India is the youngest country in the world with highest population growth rate. The exam is designed to fail a student because admission is on the basis of their all india rank. Another such country is China with their GaoKao exam is similar to the JEE. The exam already has engineering concepts which wholly defeats the purpose of going to college. Also, the general mind set in India is that engineering will give you a secure job makes millions of students take these exams therefore the government has to make tough exams otherwise they won't be able to rank the students. It is sad that students in India have to suffer along their best years in life. An education is supposed to be a learning experience not a rat race that supposedly defines the whole life of a person. But this is the sad truth Indian students suffer along the way whereas students in the west don't have to worry about doing science classes because they have minimum wage because of which even a truck driver can lead a happy life, whereas in India a truck driver barely gets through everyday in life. I believe if students get their freedom to choose their undergraduate education there will be less stress competition in the JEE examination and can make it less stressful because I have seen students literally mugging up answers to questions because they didn't understand the concept. MCQ's can't really show the true potential of a student but we have to succumb to it because of our student population to which there are no immediate solutions.

You just missed the most difficult aspect of this exams. ”The pressure of giving the exam in the exam hall”!! .It’s one thing to criticise the question while sitting in your room (I am not bashing you at all) and giving the exam .The level of pressure an ‘ASIAN’ student face while giving this kind of exam is unimaginable. This is well known by now that Asian parents pressurise their children thousands time more than a European/American parents. It doesn’t end here ,In Asian specialty in India,Bangladesh,Pakistan students just not get pressurised by their parents but by their whole family .Everybody in their family(Uncle,Aunts, their children) have high hopes for the student as a result the student has the burden of their hopes too.Again, after all the pressure you get from your relatives and family there is the pressure that you put on yourself. In europe and America their is a culture that ‘if you don’t go to college,it’s okay. You can be successful in other ways’ .But in Asia, the society has made it mandatory that everybody must attend college and not just any college, the best college and if any student fails to get into a prominent college ,the society sees him as a failure and thinks he can’t do anything in life . So ,Jee aspirants gives the exam while having all these thoughts and pressure in his mind and on top of all this things the questions are this hard . Now realise how hard it is !

We Indians sure like to gloat about the difficulty of our entrance exams. But the fact is except for the top colleges which maybe 3-4% of the students get into, the quality of engineering education in India is very bad.( I implore you to compare the textbooks of fluid mechanics by Bansal and the one by Frank White. Most mechanical engineering programmes do not have a seperate course on dynamics, just the engineering mechanics course) The average engineering graduate from Canada or USA would run circles around an average indian graduate. Only the best succeed in Jee advanced, a better standard to gauge the level of most students are the CBSE physics exams for class 11 and 12. And coming to whether a highschool student would find the exams at university of waterloo easy, I'd say maybe the calculus part is doable as we do study single variable calculus and first order differential equations in highschool but certainly not any other subject. Even though we studysubjects like thermodynamics it is only the fundamentals and even the topper cannot solve questions on Rankine cycle or Control volume system because they are not in the syllabus. Same for engineering level fluid mechanics etc.

You can't really compare a single physics midterm to the entire JEE. You get a few weeks to prepare for it, and you're studying 5 or so other courses alongside that physics class. The JEE is more equivalent to doing first years engineering exams back to back instead of a couple days apart. You get a year to study for both things, its just that in Canada you have more frequent testing which makes it easier. The marking, pacing, and length is what adds the difficulty, the concepts are fine.

I wish I could do this coming out of high school, it would save a lot of time. What people don't understand about the US schooling system is that, education before university is EXTREMELY unadvanced unless you are in the upper class paying for private schooling. When you get to Uni however, they expect you to learn these topics in days or weeks, but it is so much time wasted before getting to the real coursework. Upper division Uni work is extremely demanding however and you are studying with and under top professionals worldwide in the field. It is immeasurably more difficult than high school. In high school I did an entire year's worth of calc studying/exams in 3 days but in Uni I might spend 40-80hrs a week on coding projects. Also we have this ruleset of negative marks for competitive academics called UIL. It is a very good system that really moves the distributions of test takes apart.

The time factor also plays an important role. Without knowing the concepts, shortcuts, details of every topic it's impossible to solve even 70% of the questions even though you know how to solve more than 90% of questions. Also in engineering classes the syllabus mainly concentrates on practical applications, so it's important to know the theory beforehand.

I have a feeling that once you get accepted into IIT, your life gets a lot easier, and you don't study as hard as you did in high school. In countries with high education systems in Asia like South Korea, Iran, and Singapore, getting into prestigious Universities is extremely difficult. Still, when students get accepted, school becomes a piece of cake for them because they don't have to work as hard as they did in high school. It's the total opposite here in Canada and the United States. In North American high schools, everything is a lot easier, and getting accepted into good Universities is definitely easier. But once students start studying at Colleges/Universities here, it becomes very challenging for them, and they can't handle the pressure. I'm not sure if this is the same case with India, but that's what my foreign friends from those regions have told me. Anyways, for anyone whos doing the JEE, I wish you the best of luck, and hopefully, your the top 1%!!!

Indians think that memorization and solving quicker means you're 'smarter'. The true purpose of an exam is to assess your knowledge about a concept, and your ability in applying that concept. Consider a real world scenario - it is not the limitation of material or resources, but it is the limitation of the brain's capacity to critically think and breakdown a problem. It seems as though the 'education' system in India has totally lost that purpose. This style of examination doesn't promote engineering. It promotes an individuals ability of being monotonous. Pretty much all other colleges in India require you to just take the jee mains exams, and although the syllabus is the exact same, the level of difficulty is manageable. First of all,There are 23 IITs and not only top 10 but top 17 IITs ( except the third gen ones) are best and evolving 🔥.And as far as bits is concerned, the student quality is too poor because bitsat is like just an upgraded version of 12 boards, one of the easiest exam,ah and don't remind me of the fees

this exam is to filter the best out of the best. as you said, you dont need to know all these concepts before engineering and normal engineering colleges here have easier entrance exams

I’m india students choose their stream after completing their grade 10th (basically limiting the subjects they need to study) which can allow a student to focus on those specific subjects, those who appear for JEE only study math chemistry and physics (sometimes biology…because you know…DoCTOR) for the entire year and then spend like a month preparing for the rest two subjects for their school exam. So I guess it is pretty fair to be proficient in these subjects as they are the only one you are studying.

Bro , thats because in INDIA , this is the most basic of engineering that you have to know about , thats why the world demands indian brains , remember mr Ramanujan?? In IIT , we go to even deeper level than that , thats where the actual engineering starts

You should do a video on Canada's professional engineering exam certification comparative to the US professional engineering exam cirtificate, they are very different. I got the Idea from Wissam seif's video he's another Canadian Mechanical engineering graduate. (You should think about doing a collab with him one day )

Well, the thought that goes behind designing the JEE Paper is that a student who is expected to become a good 'ENGINEER' :- 1. Is expected to minimize errors( resulting in req. of the final answer) 2. Is able to do heavy calculations (difficulty level) 3.Ability to find hidden information and use hints (trick questions) 4.Ability to relate different tools to solve a problem (questions of mixed concepts) 5.Ability to deal with worst case scenarios( unexpected changes in marking scheme and question paper pattern every year) 6.Solving bigger problems in a given time to bring out critical thinking abilities ( the no. of problems are relatively lower for 3 hours/paper). etc. are some of the few reasons for JEE to be the way it is and also since it is an Elimination paper therefore the difficulty curve surges up even more.

I'll be honest, as a neet aspirant I cleared Mains, and I feel that this was the easiest advance exams compared to previous years, one of the major screening part is done section 3

Solving this paper 1 time gave you PTSD and the aspirants in India spent 2 to 3 years with that......The thing I concluded with this is that no person from U.S or Canada should underestimate the struggle of a JEE Aspirant who even if didn't managed to qualify the exam....cause you never know what he went through in the mean process and how pressurized he was at certain situations....

Imagine being a high school student and answering these questions without calucaltor and within less time limit. The best part is that you have no idea how the question paper will be. So if you consider these then i would say that these are one of the very difficult question papers around globe and also many say that,if you take a random guess out of 10 choose the best answer you would probably get two right answers out of luck ,but that doesn't work here.. so if i have to choose the answer by random guess then i would literally fail

Negative marks are there to test the confidence of the student regarding his/her answer, so it's made sure that his concept is 100% perfect and no bluffing is there. And they want 700 800 students out of all million students for IIT so... Plus we are not allowed to have calculators in exams, so here in Canada also, I do many calculations in mind and other students are like, wait a minute. And JEE Advanced, both papers are done on the same day, 3 hours + 1-2 hour break if I recall correctly and then Paper 2 for 3 hours. So basically its a day long marathon

Wait, you need to take Paper 1 AND 2? I thought it was like one student gets Paper 1 and the other next to him/her gets Paper 2 to prevent cheating or something.
