Taming a rally monster in just three weeks. Can Emily do it?

Emily is 17 this year and desperate to learn to drive so we've brought RS200 number #039 out of storage early because her wildly ambitious plan is to have the bragging rights that the first time she ever drove a car was an RS200 on a disused V-Bomber base. How cool would that be?
We've had to wait for the weather to play along a little and now we're on a roll but she doesn't have long to get this down. Will she do it?

That was her word of choice all day. The main east coast railway line is literally ten yards from the warehouse too so there were a number of 'chuffing trains' that brought our filming to a halt too. And, yes, 40 years old next year and still a stunner!

Good luck Em. Those cars look great all these years on from production. The rebuild project of the other RS200 is an eye opener also. Detail that most of us never knew about in its construction.

It's a timeless design. And the horrors of the original design are news to us too but we're getting around that by degrees. As for Ems - it's gong to be death or glory at Elvington. Or, put another way, she'll stall it ten times then lose her temper with it and red-line it off the line. Can't wait. 😁

We're having a riot. I reckon there'll be something else 'chuffing' wrong on the next leg of our learning to drive without learning to drive experience but she'll get there.

Hi. Until this morning I'd never seen your channel before but have now liked and subscribed. Being a life long fordaholic i saw the picture of the RS200, started watching it without noticing the channel name. I saw you and you looked familiar but i couldn't think where but i remembered you wearing a woolly hat with tassles. Then i saw your channel name and your past videos and it clicked. We live in Warwickshire, we go to the Lake District a lot on holidays. Anything to do with any type of engine, whatever it is fitted to, I'm keen as mustard. But since I'm 100% on your side of this Bluebird fiasco, I'll not be setting foot anywhere near the ruskin museum because of how they've treated you. Do they tell American tourists how THEY struggled to restore K7 without even mentioning your hard work? Sorry to go over old ground but watching for years of what happened to K7 just made my blood boil. On a much happier note, I am so jealous of your daughter to have a RS200 as her first car to drive!!! Good luck to her, hope she does well. Anyway all the very best to you and your family.

How tall do you have to be to reach the pedals in that thing? Ems could always wear platform shoes...

Not very tall - it's a tiny car but Ems is really tiny. Even with platform shoes she still couldn't see over the top but we'll get her there.

Let's hope she can pull this off - we have quite an intense training programme for her but it's difficult to teach someone to drive without actually having them drive something... Fingers crossed. 🤞

😁 Ems is only too aware that 'RS200 clutch' is a phenomenon to be feared. She's heard me cursing it enough times.
