I think the reason why this song will be my favourite and in general, not just his specifically, is because the lyrics speak of waiting patiently for a lover that is (in my opinion) depressed and how even though they are going through this great sadness, they are still going /through/ it and he will be there on the other side for them. The idea of someone so beautifully conveying their love and patience for their lover like that gives me at least a little bit of hope that someone else will still love me through my own battles with depression.
