Awesome. I’ve just bought this kit and was looking for inspiration paint/diorama wise. I have found it. Thank you.

I built the same model when I was about 12 or 13. Yours is much better needless to say. The absolute attention to detail elevates it to a whole other level. The slings are just one of those tiny details that makes this such an incredible diorama.

Thanks Dr J, very much appreciated. Yes i thin my current effort was also a bit better than my 45 years ago effort, but one thing is the same, i had great fun doing it back then and i had as much fun doing it now, The slings....... let's just say that my vision was blurred for a whole day after making them 🤓🤓🤓

Hi Halidon. Really enjoyed your diorama build on the 88. The man on the bogey drinking is a problem to fix in place but i think i have done it but it took hours of manipulating plastic. Now to paint and fix in place. Your pissing man is a laugh. In Spain the nativity scenes at christmas traditionally have a sh*tter. Seriously. A man bending over taking a dump and i was thinking of adding that to my builds but you have beaten me to it. Thanks for the build.
@HalidonDioramas3 жыл бұрын
Thanks Chris, yeah i couldnt get that bastard in place no matter how hard i tried, nothing short of surgery was going to do it and i was too lazy to do that. A figure taking a dump would be funny, i think you have just given me a new idea mate 😝😝😝

excellent work...just one thing- in artillery practice to avoid any accidents there's nothing behind the gun- behind the barrel precisely (no personnel..no vehicles) when in fire position and expecting to fire...why- you never know if any malfunction can occur with the barrel firing and going backwards (if hydraulic and stopping system break barrel can fly backwards loose)...that's standard practice in artillery...just a precaution in any case :))

I think that this has come together really well. Lots going on, but all with their own small story. I think the 88 looks great - same with the kubel. Good work on those boxes of ammo and straps too... last time I did straps like that I cheated and made a small fold in the ends and just superglued them on... you've given me something to try out next time though. Also, Horse looks like he has the bore of another 88 ;D Definitely needs to see his doctor!. Fantastic scene - great work throughout. Great vid, thanks for sharing.

A great build Glen! I have followed this build right from the start, and I am impressed with your skills applied here. I would love to have a go at something as detailed as that ‘88, but my old shaky hands would find it to be a real challenge I think. At 68 years old, I would love to have a stream equal to Horse’s. He seems to be in possession of above average equipment as well - best of both worlds I guess, but wasted on me I’m afraid. I love these dioramas, and can’t wait to see your next effort. Cheers from a fellow Aussie!

Hi Gary, thank you for your kind comments, it is much appreciated mate. Yes Horse is a freak of nature, far better endowed than the average man and yet humble about it until he hits the field brothel, then by all reports he is a force to behold 😉😉😉

Nice. Rarely see the trucks for the 88 included in the dioramas plus the scene extras like "Horse". I often mix and match in "combat" dioramas or even just my table top pieces. Load outs are quite often VERY individualistic in line units.

Thanks Timothy, i thought it best to wack them all in, sort of filled up the space a bit better i thought 👍
@michaelharris952 жыл бұрын
I know its 2 years old, but just watched the entire compilation, great job with all the work you did. One problem I see is your loader is about to get walloped by the casing being ejected, because your gun is at the max in the recoil cycle. When it starts forward it will auto eject the spent casing. Good job either way I like the way you go about your models and dioramas.
@HalidonDioramas2 жыл бұрын
Thanks Michael, your knowledge of 88's is way better than mine, I wouldn't have had a clue what state the gun was in, but the most important thing is that Horse isn't in the firing line and his member remains undamaged 😃

Thanks Brother, much appreciated as always. I am too modest to say if Horse is modeled on anyone I know, just let it be known that i did have to go with 1/72 scale for that particular part because a 1/35th rendition would have taken someones eye out 😜😜😜 All good here brother, haven't left the house for weeks and not missing it much either . Take care and stay healthy 👍

Cracking result! The rope handles are a great improvement - I'll be using that, thanks. (-: Nice work on the slings and swivels too - a world of fiddly! I've got a Bravo 6 figure of a tank crewman taking a leak that actually has a choice of three different sized appendages - but nothing on Horse. Really enjoyed this series, cheers.
@HalidonDioramas4 жыл бұрын
Thanks Andrew, I like the Bravo figures, usually good details, the temptation to use all three would have been hard to resist for me 🤪🤪🤪
@ianthomson93634 жыл бұрын
Great job! I'm impressed by the slings- I've done a couple and know how fiddly they are. My King Tiger needs more shells & ammo crates as the Tamiya ammo loading crew comes with only 2 shells and 4 crates (and I've lost one of those to the carpet monster) but I'm going to try my hand at casting a few more. What did you use for the rope handles? They look very good.
@HalidonDioramas4 жыл бұрын
Thanks Ian, much appreciated mate. I spend half my life on hands and knees searching the carpet for lost bits, i think i will replace the carpet with tiles, bright white ones so i can see 🤓 The rope is just 1/35 scale rope, I'm sorry i can't tell you what brand, i took it out of the packet and now it lives in a giant knot in my top drawer 😜😜😜
@ianthomson93634 жыл бұрын
@@HalidonDioramas Thanks, I might try making my own from sewing thread rather than spending money on it. How hard can it be?! One of my most useful modelling tools is one of those super bright tactical torches for locating parts that have pinged out of tweezers into the wild blue yonder- only two failures so far- who would have thought an ammo crate for an 88mm shell would be impossible to find?

What is that blue thing you are using with what appears to be glue?
@ianthomson93634 жыл бұрын
It's a UV light. The glue is a type of superglue that hardens when exposed to UV light so you have plenty of time to get things in the right position, unlike normal superglue. I have the Revell one and found it very useful.
@HalidonDioramas4 жыл бұрын
HI Steve, yes, Ian is spot on, and i love it very much, so easy to use and gives you a lot of control over placement of what you are trying to glue, check out my earlier video on how to build trees, i cover it in a bit more detail in that one kzbin.info/www/bejne/bHLIY5igf9ejqpI Cheers Glen

Fantastic as always Glenn.👍 base is outstanding what blend did you use? I think that would be perfect for my Panther builds. Its been on my to Finnish the damn thing list for two years. 😁 great idea on the ammo crates I find those ends always looked week. I wasn't going to say anything about the dude pissing just because you'd hear them all. But it's just to damn funny. "I think I caught something At the last village?" AAAHHH "halt!!" NEIN Der regen muss Kommen! Aber du totest den Baum.🤣🤣🤣🤣 anyway fantastic build Glenn have some stuff on order for the Brummbar. 😫

Hi Clay, thanks mate, much appreciated. The grass is from Ground Up Scenery, it's their Summer Blend and with a bit of random pastels brushed through here and there came up fairly well i think.
