Not many builders want to tackle the black/white stripes topside and you really did them well. Overall excellent build although you forgot the swastika's on the deck fore and aft. Easy thumbs up!

Thanks, the stripes added some interest so I felt they were worth the effort.

I am just finished the Tirpitz. just some rigging ans small arms to fit. A slow process with arthritis in the thumbs. With out a full set of photo etch parts It really is a boat shaped plastic blob. But it was brilliant back in the 1970's and way ahead of the competition. Bismark now that I recall was the first plastic kit I built in the 1960's. I was possibly 5 years old. My father had bought it and was so slow in building it, the real thing would have been built faster. I took it to my room and finished it off in a few hours. It looked great to me and I think he was impressed as he didn't give out to me.

The kit is not the most detailed but I was pleased when I found it in my stash. I'd forgotten I'd bought it and the King George V, which I keep intending to build but get sidetracked onto something else. I agree they do need the etched brass but it makes for a tricky and expensive build so I keep it to a minimum.

How do you get black and white paint to go on a structure in a straight line? I don't understand.

I used a combination of a laser spirit level, careful masking and constant checking/rechecking that the alignment looked correct before airbrushing.
