TAMIYA BBX ON A WINTER'S DAY (Best seen in 4K on a big screen)

I've been sat on this footage for over four months now, but to be honest lacked the motivation to do anything with it. 😔 Indeed, at the start of the year I really felt that I needed to take a break from KZbin as I seemed to be spending all my free time sat in front of the computer editing, uploading etc etc...
I guess it is good to take a break now and again.
So, apologies for the lack of uploads recently and for the excessive use of slo mo in this video. I've been wanting to use this track for a long, long time and it really lends itself to slower paced visuals.
I'm a huge fan of the BBX. It looks fabulous, drives well, is whisper quiet and brings a huge smile to my face whenever I run it.

The BBX is such a cool buggy! I'm loving those green lights, and of course the slow motion and general feel of this! I just read the video description, welcome back! Yeah, well, wintertime is just not very motivating for anything, really, I have it the same way, also just did first upload in several months... Brighter times ahead, buddy! Thanks! I've wanted to use this track for a while, just not had suitable footage. I'm sure they'll be another BB-01 chassis release from Tamiya in the not too distant future. A lot will depend on how well the BBX sells.

Awesome video! Which electronics you've used? Is the bbx stock (the shocks seem different)? did you like the ball diffs on it?

ESC is a Hobbywing Justock, mounted in the stock position but without the rear shroud. Motor is a Tamiya TBLM 17.5T. Servo and receiver are Futaba. It runs and gear diff, slipper clutch and Tamiya big bore dampers. I bought the big bore dampers before the buggy arrived, but in all honesty the stock dampers are excellent and apart from looks (and a marginal performance gain) there isn't really any need to upgrade the stock ones.

Hello Daivd, it seems to me you might be in an interesting position to make some videos about two wheel drive R/C cars. Maybe you could do a comparison between the Tamiya BBX, the Kyosho Dirt Master, the Genova and the PR S1 RM buggies. It appears that you might have all 4 of them, unless you sold them. Sounds like a very interesting video to me. Thoughts?

I still have them. I have comparisons of a few already on my channel. Never got round to including the BBX though. Briefly: Best looking (subjective) : BBX Most enjoyable build: BBX Highest performance (out of the box) :S1 RM Overall parts quality: S1 RM Value for money (when considering performance) S1 RM Value for money overall: tie DM & Genova (good performance at a reasonable price) Affordability of options and spares: BBX Parts support: BBX Ease of maintenance: anything but the BBX Durability: Genova (though I haven't ran the others to enough to make a fair assessment)

I just saw your newest video. You did show all of the cars I was talking about! You even showed the Kyosho JJ car too. I do have one of those as well, but I was not sure if this is really in the same class, because of the price of the car. Thoughts?

@@alfredyost7972 The JJ is somewhat different to the others as it is a replica of an old design (re-release in a way) while the others are (relatively) modern chassis designs with retro styling. The JJ is also considerably more expensive, mostly due to it being a one-off, 60th anniversary limited model with an expensive carbon chassis. I've yet to run the JJ, but I doubt it will be able to match the performance of the others, especially the S1 RM.

@@KaiCityRC I suspect that you are right. The Kyosho JJ is way too expensive for what it is. I did buy one but I have not yet built it yet. This kit is even more expensive than the RC10 clear. Thoughts?
