Good old but forever young at heart CC-01 chassis, next year it can celebrate its 25 year anniversary if I am not mistaken, and it is still one of the best choices for those who want a trail or cross-contry truck. The aftermarket items you can buy to modify the CC-01 chassis, or personalize it for your use or taste is almost endless. When Tamiya also make the best lexan bodies the result must be good, making it one of the best buys in its segment. And as we see demonstrated in this video, when its expertly built, painted and decorated, it looks like the real thing when shot by the best rc video maker on KZbin. Cheers.

Eh...Matteo did a great job with this build, but to really fix all the problems with the CC-01 chassis you'd have to completely replace it. No amount of bolt-on upgrades can fix the weak non-reinforced ABS plastic chassis that cracks over time just sitting on the shelf.

Well said. Any proven ideas on how would someone make the body look sturdier, not twisting and trembling - especially in between front and rear wheels - unrealistically when moving on the trail?
@mojaverc15854 жыл бұрын
George Chaidaris reinforce the thing with tons of shoo goo drywall plaster and gorilla tape and secure it to the chassis on many different places on the chassis

Hello matteo,I see you have many videos about the CC01 chassis, me myself have been playing it for two years,and I noticed some defect of it,guess you must know them too,like the easy worn out of aluminum pinion gear and contact between rear shocks and rear axle.I replaced the stock pinion by a M06 steel pinion from MST,could you tell us your method dealing with these problems?cause I see many of your CC01s are still in original look.BTW,thanks a lot for those great RC movies!
@Matteomeier6 жыл бұрын
Aluminum pinions are fast worn out in every car. It's a good solution with the steel pinion. Maybe you have to change some worn out parts on the rear suspension, ball heads and links. Every usage produces some wear. Or you install better parts, as here shown: kzbin.info/www/bejne/h6WUaqJjotuWgJo
@shouryliu29166 жыл бұрын
Thanks Matteo! the aluminum pinion works pretty well in WR02's gearbox, that made me think the problem should come from CC01's gearbox.

Fantastic video Matteo. I have just build the cc01 defender myself but it the weather here in Ireland is horrible so I am yet to get my 1st proper run in my 1st rock crawler. Can I ask, does the sand not damage anything? Same with the water....is esc and electrics waterproof? Again awesome video and you have done a fantastic job on the shell.
@Matteomeier6 жыл бұрын
Thanks! Sand is not a big problem, but water destroy the electronics. But the water depth in the video is not so much, so the electronics are not in contact with water. If you like to go deeper you have to make the electronics waterproof: kzbin.info/www/bejne/gIHYq2qDndx9otk

Yes, of course, it's much more resistant when painted. Neds a bit of masking but it's not a big deal. I think I painted mine too.

Great video again, thanks. It's nice that Tamiya keeps adding body choices for the cc01. But I think they should do more hard bodies. Even though they add great detail to their pc bodies they always are to thin and floppy for my taste. A cc01 with the bruiser or blackfoot body would be nice....
@Matteomeier6 жыл бұрын
Yes, I agree. Otherwise the hard plastic bodies are much more difficult in manufacturing and therfore more expensive also. And here on this model, better body post would eliminate the most of wobbling.
