Love the CC02 Defender, she's a beauty! The stock tires are useless for crawling, the rubber compound is way too hard, so consider a good wheel/tire combo as an initial upgrade. I like running aluminum beadlocks, as the added weight down low helps keep the car planted over tough terrain. And a good set of crawler foams will make a big difference with traction, so shop around a little, as prices can vary quite a bit, but performance-wise, they're a must-have! Cheers!

It looks like a great kit 🙂 I never tested or been interested in crawling. But I got a perfect spot nearby that's perfect for crawling. So I am a little tempted to at least try 😅 if so, I will get a Tamiya, then I at least will have fun building it 😊 worst outcome is that it will be a shelfqueen 👍

I was the same, crawling seemed a little slow but the weather is changing to winter. I’ve seen loads of great videos and shots of these trucks and just felt I’d give it a go. Got some great countryside around me to take advantage of.

I used to be a CC01 fan boy and really like them but they are a trail truck to be honest. I love my CC02 as well. Mine is standard but I went with the Hobbywing 1080 and a Holmes Hobbies Trailmaster 35t motor. What I would say is if you want it to be a little more capable the tyres will need to be changed and also locking BOTH diffs will help a huge amount. the steering is compromised a little though. I have the longer wheelbase one with a Lada Niva body. It really needs to be used more though... Enjoy the build. I really enjoyed it

@@rctamiyaaddict4687 i think my tyres are RC4WD ones or copies, i will look when I get home this evening. There are a huge amount out there. I went with Boom Racing 1.55 steel beadlock wheels with the better tyres

Its an awsome kit, i love mine. I need to pull mine apart to let it run the low speed gearing and im going to lock both diffs, i just took mine out in the snow and wouldnt move 😂 the tyres are ok for everything flatish. But do want upgrading if you need grip on rocks.

No I don’t. Think I’ll be sticking with the cars I have for quite a while now. So much to do with potential upgrades and little projects I have in mind. But saying that, I never intended buying a CC02 🤦🏼‍♂️

Yeah I got the BBX. I went in to buy a lower front arm for my TT02 and came out with a BBX.

LED kit. Wow! I live in Japan and bought it in Japan and no LED kit with it. As a matter of fact, the kit is not even in the Tamiya catalog. Sheesh.
