Need to keep the plastic tub chassis to be legal in the Classic class at VONATS. A Top Force FRP chassis, with all of the stuff on it already, basically makes it a Top Force.

Thank you very interesting review. Would love to see another track run of it also seeing you install the LIPO would also be nice. I also have clear rubber tubing for the propeller shaft to reduce play between the shaft end and the two cups on either end. Seems like many cars in Japan do this for some reason. How about doing a performance setup for a Thunder Dragon or Egress/Vanquish?

Yes, I remember the clear tubing trick, possibly from an RCCA article back in the '90's. I may run this again in the future, but in the short term I'm planning on using my Lazer Alpha in the Classic class at VONATS this year (instead of the Dirt Thrasher, which I've already raced several times there). I do not have a Thunder Dragon and I have no plans to run an Egress/Vanquish at the moment.

@@doctormosfet I purchased a Thunder Dragon the other day actually. I saw a sponsored driver actually run his Thundershot/Scorcher at a 1990 ROAR race in Livermore Raceway and be competitive, I was shocked at the time how well it was running on an indoor track at Livermore Raceway. I think your engineering knowledge and vintage racing interest could make this chassis perform today. If you could perform at the next VONATS on this platform...it could be your biggest Tamiya challenge yet.
