@@MarkBryanRC Rob needs to stay well away from the BBC mate.... one of the most corrupt corporations this country has ever seen by a long shot, I cancelled my TV licence many years ago! But I'd better not touch on this one on here buddy..... don't want Kiers two tear starm troopers on my case for voicing a genuine opinion! 🙄🤷‍♂️ As for the DT02, we only have one run left mate..... I'm guessing perhaps 37mph within our reach with the super modified. Then we will call it a day on this one I think.... It's been a fun ride! 👍 👍 👍

Oh yes Mads, it's taken several runs (that I haven't uploaded) to get a 2mph increase!! The zoomed shots do make it difficult to judge the speed. And yes the car is on rails but I just wish it could be a little faster! Oh and the MF is going to be a whole different story 🙄. Weekend is going well, hope the same goes for you my friend 👍

Hey good stuff mate. So this was ages ago as you are talking about the football final. I can't remember, did we win 🤔🤣 I've never got more than one video ready to go but then I still have to go to work which is rather a shame. I think that it comes down to having quite a fancy high rpm motor judging by the guys at the top. Be interesting to have a contest where everyone had to use a Tamiya silver can and 2s. Hi Pete - oh yeah in a parallel universe we did win the final!!! Mate, I've done so many of these speed runs and not improved so there is tons of footage to wade through! I usually end up editing the same day I upload and never have stuff prepared in advance - even though I don't have to go to work!! 😂 Anyway, this motor is supposed to rev to 43000 revs, 10000 more than the 14T. But it clearly doesn't! I've been advised that the 1060 is my problem. So next time it's my vintage Patriot no limits ESC. Trouble is, it has no reverse! It could be a long walk of shame!!! 😅 Hope that beer was nice - all the best my good friend! 😎🙏👍

Brother Mark... Using the same set up, try the 17 tooth pinion with that 10 turn motor... It just might surprise you.. At least it's up and not down mate!!!! giggle giggle.

Thanks brother Bob! 🙏 I have changed the ESC to a no motor limit vintage Patriot F1. Other folks said the 1060 ESC was holding the motor back. So I fitted the small wheels and will give it another go this afternoon. Fingers crossed mate, 🤞 hope you are right ✅ 👍

@@MarkBryanRC Sounds like a plan to me mate!!! The 1060 esc is a good unit but it does lack the amps to really open up a motors potential I do believe.. I have quite a few vintage ESC's here with low turn motor numbers or no limit... If I can ever get me a$$ out to do that esc comparison I wanted to do, it just might show some great results... I know Rob beat me to that idea (I sat on it for 2 years now), it is a pain to swap out as many as up to 10 esc's.

So hard to get more speed once you hit the wall. But a low turn motor does not mean fast, I noticed that last year.

You got that right Mal! I think the lower turn motors might have trouble pulling higher gearing, but it's hard to work out the best combination! :)

Well done Mark, I didnt think you would surpass your previous best, but it just shows. You may as well have a crack with the other pinion you mentioned, it may just squeeze out that extra mph that you need. That and maybe having the wind behind you...👍🏻🙂. Im picturing storm force winds and you knock out a 50. How cool would that be...😂.

Thanks a ton, Tony! Yeah at least it was faster and not slower, I've done about 5 more runs I haven't shown as they were slower! This 10T motor hit 45mph in my TT02 last year, I have no idea what's wrong. The brushes and commutator seem OK... yep, speed run season is a bit hectic!

Hi there Carl, ooh suit you too Sir! 😀 Apparently the Hobbywing 1060 is rated to 12T and 30000rpm. But my Tamiya rebranded 1060 instructions say 8T and 40000rpm!!!! IDK it doesn't sound right ro me! I think you are limited by the esc. The 1060 esc only supports a certain amount of turns.

Many thanks Nick. The Tamiya 1060 instructions say it'll go down to 8T and 45000 RPM, but I think you might be right and the specs are over-optimistic! I'll see if I can get hold of a higher rated ESC. Cheers!

I think bigger/smaller wheels has not the same effect as a smaller/bigger pinion? The motor is not revving up enough...

@@MarkBryanRC My one went faster in reverse so I reconnected it then reversed the wires on the motor then reversed the direction on the controller it now goes faster.
