First time I tried replacing parts of hard bodies. It wasn't too bad tbh. Just kind of felt my way through it as I went. There was a lot of test fitting of the tailgate to make sure the back corner I replaced was the same as the other side. Thanks for watching 👍🏼

I knew they did decals but when I looked it was expensive to the U.K. I said to myself I would wait till I needed a couple of sets. Never happened. Didn't know they did shells. Shipping is just so expensive though. For the KBP, I will use some sponsor stickers I have. I never actually liked the original decals anyway tbh. Shame the number plate stretched when I removed it though. For shells here in U.K. I look at Kamtec or Pro-Line. Pro-Line do a nice old Ford one which might work.

That paint is confusing. Took me a moment to get my heard around the their paint ange. It's all called Montana Gold....lol. That is that particular range which is their satin paint. It is a graffiti paint so a range of nozzles can be used which also added another dimension of working things out. The Hycote Matt lacquer was good from euro car parts. Comes out fast though! Thanks for the comments.on the video quality, my PC is so old and it is a struggle but thinking of upgrading which means I could use a better editing software. It's fun learning this stuff.

Cheers Pete 👍🏼. It was great to do. Took a while to get the bit at the back that was replaced spot on but really enjoyed this. Just waiting on one more sticker to compete. I have also since centered the servo and removed the bell crank. 👍🏼

Pete, another product I was recommended is Q-Bond. Take a look on YT for a demo. The glue is amazing and you get a powder to fill in and build up plastic. I used it to fill some holes when I centered the servo. Then I could re-drill holes which were centered. 👍🏼

I found superglue and baking soda worked better than talk and superglue. Although, after finding Q-Bond that is best.

Wow! That's great. The chrome wheels I found on eBay, they are not in production now so you need a bit of luck finding them. Can be expensive too.

I have restored and updated my King Blackfoot from childhood recently. I'm happy with the chassis at the moment, but I fell in love with that chrome plated wheels! Did you paint it, or is it a different set? Would also love to have a new Blackfoot / Super Blackfoot body. Prefer the chassis of the KBF, but do like the look of the old school square body! Otherwise, very nice build... Looks really clean now👌🏻

Cool, that's great to hear. The wheels on mine are a Hop Up and you find them now and again on eBay. Can be pricey from what I have seen.

@@DustyFingersRC Thank you, thinking it would be easier to get chrome paint... 😅 What motor do you run? And is it still the stock diff? Had trouble finding drive shafts aswell, but made a new pair out of the old shafts and pins from new set that was slightly too long

Yeah, still stock gears. They seem bullet proof. I picked it up second hand and it came with a vintage Reedy brushed motor which I couldn't find any specific information on. It is fast enough to lift the front wheels so I put a wheelie bar on. I am thinking of taking the red wheels and painting those black, not sure how easy painting chrome would be tbh. I think it can be difficult. Love to know if you manage to do it OK.

@@DustyFingersRC That must be a real strong motor, even for brushed. I put a Sport Tuned motor on, and doesn't wheely like that one 😁 I've seen on a thread the Wild Willy 2 wheels work on the ORV, no mods needed. It's a shame that tyres are not as tall as the OG tyres... Love the balloon tyre look aswell for the classic Monster Truck look. I'll keep you posted on the developments 👌🏻😁

@@DustyFingersRC If you want to paint your red stock ones black, you can use normal clothes dye. Use the black dye as you would on clothes, and the dye will imbed itself in the plastic. It actually penetrates a bit so it can get scratches and still be black.

These are not the highest quality shocks but they seem OK. I did clean the piston rods thoroughly before putting oil in. I would highly recommend doing that as they really need it.
