I started watching your Blackfoot videos and I found myself online with my credit card in hand 😀 Well..,.I purchased an original Blackfoot off of eBay tonight. It’s going to need a resto, & I’m excited to tear into it when it arrives. I also ordered new tires/wheels and a windscreen set. I had one back in the late 80’s, so it’ll be a nice addition to my collection. I also purchased an original Frog complete with vintage twin stick Futaba radio and a box of spare parts. Once I restore the chassis it’ll be used to display my Brat body. I just love this hobby. Thank you for the inspiration Glenn. 👍

Need a Monster Beetle to complete the chassis set! LOL! Awesome! brings back memories of building my OG Blackfoot. I still have it 30+ year later and it still runs! I put oil filled shocks on mine and I changed out the back end for the Blackfoot 3 rear end with proper dog bones because half shafts SUCK! LOL!

Looks good! The Blackfoot was the first RC my friend Doug and I took to the local racetrack and tried to race. I had my RC10 with me but my Novak 4 speed control burnt up and I couldn't run (I was so gutted). The stock Blackfoot never completed a lap! Lol. We couldn't get it to drive in a straight line - it just kept spinning around and spinning out. ;) The Blackfoot is the original basher.

Ball raced, Oil Shocks and NOT the original VINYL Tires!! 😖😲 I of course realize the appeal of restoration, but I'd love to find a re re and mod it similar to my old one. MIP makes a Ball Diff kit now. That was a quite thorough and CORRECT Restoration!! Definitely takes me back. Carmine ✈🚂🚙

hello there Glen, just wondering do you glue all the tires on as im always afraid of getting ca on the rims and making a mess i got some of those Zap Flex tips to get right in the places where its meant to go with out making a whole lot of mess , as at the start the tires don't turn on the rim but i found once they stretch after a bit of driving and your in a tight spot the tire tends to spin on the rim if there not glued on , great video and the chassis on the blackfoot is similar to the frog that im assembling atm, cheers Glen.

Hey Andrew I try not to glue them if I can get away with it, as you say it always gets messy and usually spoils the look of the tyres 😞

The Blackfoot was my first ever hobby grade RC and i have built/owned/ worked on Many many over the years just noting some things with this that spur gear is not original, the stand offs and MSC are not right and its missing the metal resistor guard, and obviously the steering servo saver is aftermarket

Never used tyre decals. Are the they 'strong' enough to stand up to proper running or are they mainly for shelf queens/very light use? Wd-40 on the plastics not only makes them easier to wipe (and 'as new' shiny) but 'softens' the plastic

Those tire decals look great Glenn. I've got a black Bruiser (clone) shelfer that would look awesome with a set of white-lettered tires. I've had a look at MCI's tire decal sheet web page and found what I believe are the exact ones you have (mciracing.ca/products/mud-terrain). If this is what you have, did you tell MCI to increase the scale so they will fit the large diameter tires or did you just order them in the standard size?
